The Turtle Partnership Blog. Random Thoughts From An Unusual Company. Problems Deploying Sametime Policies – The Missing Link. I’ve recently run into a problem deploying Sametime Community Server 9.0.1 at two new sites and on an existing 8.5.2 IFR1 site which I’m not 100% convinced is the same issue but as part of my troubleshooting I discovered a missing piece of policy behaviour that I”m finding extremely useful. The first thing to do is test that the Community Server can access and read policies using...

The Turtle Partnership Blog. Random Thoughts From An Unusual Company. Some Punny Title With The Word “Abstract” In It. IBM Call for Abstracts is open as I’m sure you’ve heard from 100 other sources but I wanted to talk a bit about some of the tracks and especially the Show and Tell track that Paul and I have been working on with the track manager Christian Holsing at IBM since its inception. You’ll notice if you go look (oh go on, here’s a URL. The Show ‘n Tell track brings you the best in live tec...

The Turtle Partnership Blog. Random Thoughts From An Unusual Company. Domino 9.0.1 FP4 Crashes With HTTP On Linux and AIX. Turns out the IBM installer for FP4 on Linux and AIX is setting the ownership of the dojo folder incorrectly which causes the crash. The dojo folder is under notesdatadirectory /domino/js and the ownership was set to invalid names. From the js directory (which just has the dojo folder in it) I ran. Chown notes:notes * -R. The Turtle Partnership Blog. Random Thoughts From An Unusual Company. THIS is how our community learns, thrives and has fun like no other. In just over two weeks’ time I’m heading to Atlanta for the MWLUG conference. It’s my first MWLUG visit and this year’s conference is ridiculously packed with technical experts, champions, sponsors and more great content than you’re going to see in person anywhere else in the US this year. Take a look at this schedule. You’ll see me on it). The IBM Docs Dilemma. 3 tho...

The Turtle Partnership Blog. Random Thoughts From An Unusual Company. User Denied Access To Files and Wikis. Another PMR this week on a new 5.5 side by side build. Once built everything looked OK except a couple of users in IT who received access denied errors when going to Files or Wikis, everything else worked. Those two applications have databases with pretty much the same schema so we often see matching problems in both applications. Identifier: LC6C54CE35BA4D41BF8CB2461634B9EAE6 EJPVJ9275E: Unable t...

Work, fun, whatever. Newer posts →. The times, they are indeed changing. September 16, 2013. Try not to read too much into this ok? I am starting a training bootcamp this week that will end with me joining the IBM Connections support team. It felt good to get that out. So, the Notes Goddess is taking on Connections. Honestly, I still bleed yellow and always will. I’ve never met a piece of software yet I couldn’t tame, so I’ll take on Connections just for the challenge. Wish me luck. June 16, 2013. Where ...

The Turtle Partnership Blog. Random Thoughts From An Unusual Company. Icon UK and Spark Ideas. I’m very pleased to say that i’ll be speaking at Icon UK being held in London from Sept 15th – 16th at IBM South Bank. The only user group event all year I get to travel to from home. I have two sessions, plus Nerd Girls are doing a combination Sparks and panel on the first day and I’ve signed up to do speedsponsoring which may be about Traveler performance. Or Domino tips. Or something…. Day 1 @ 2.50pm. We are...
