Brave Captain: August 2007
http://brave-captain.blogspot.com/2007_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 16, 2007. It's a very special time here at our house. And by "special", I mean "involving a disturbing surprise". Every year, we follow the old-fashioned tradition of coloring and hiding hard-boiled Easter eggs. After the great Egg Scare of 2004 (ES04), when we found a forgotten (but still intact) decorated egg a few days after Easter, we decided to meticulously document the number and location of all eggs hidden indoors from now on. How could this single egg have slipped past the radar?

Brave Captain: September 2007
http://brave-captain.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 20, 2007. It's just really important that people are put in the RIGHT compartments, so they can be appropriately judged (are you judging me? You're judging me aren't you! Enter: Nerd Test 2.0! Posted by Wally.Paxton. Links to this post. Saturday, September 08, 2007. An ant on the tablecloth. Ran into a dormant moth. Of many times his size. He showed not the least surprise. His business wasn't with such. He gave it scarcely a touch,. And was off on his duty run. Ants are a curious race;.

Brave Captain: Inside Delta Force
http://brave-captain.blogspot.com/2008/05/inside-delta-force.html
Wednesday, May 07, 2008. Finally found time to finish "Inside Delta Force" by one of the original Delta Force operators, Eric Haney. After getting a vivid idea of what the U.S. was up against in the 70s and 80s, I can only imagine what our brave men and women in the armed forces are facing today. It's not just the Delta Force either. A lot of young men and women are facing danger every day so we can worry about gas prices and the weather instead of shrapnel and stray bullets. O ne Oregon couple. Thanks f...

Brave Captain: January 2008
http://brave-captain.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 31, 2008. Question of the Week. Which would you prefer: 1) a wild, turbulent life filled with joy, sorrow, passion, and adventure - intoxicating successes and stunning setbacks; or 2) a happy, secure, predictable life surrounded by friends and family without such wide swings of fortune and mood? From the very thought-provoking "Book of Questions" by Gregory Stock). What about option 1) surrounded by family and friends? Would you still choose secure and predictable? Links to this post.

Brave Captain: Is it white or is it fluorescent?
http://brave-captain.blogspot.com/2010/01/is-it-white-or-is-it-fluorescent.html
Tuesday, January 05, 2010. Is it white or is it fluorescent? Think about ultra-bright copy paper, and brand new white clothes. How did they get so white? But don't worry. These chemicals are non-toxic (though I wouldn't eat them). Just another example of how chemistry makes life better. And brighter. Want to know more? Here's a good link. Ps - You might think these would also be used in teeth whiteners. Especially after that Friends episode. Posted by Wally.Paxton. Hmmmmm. . . Life moves pretty fast.

Brave Captain: April 2008
http://brave-captain.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 07, 2008. The New Status Symbol. Apparently, having kids is the new way to show off. In spite of the financial odds against her, Pamela Paul at the Washington Post has defiantly declared that she and her husband are going to upgrade their family from REGULAR to DELUXE by having a 3rd child. Does that make a family of six "super-sized"? How about my family growing up: "Jumbo? At any rate, click HERE. Posted by Wally.Paxton. Links to this post. Wednesday, April 02, 2008. Brave Captain: A Shot of Inspiration!
http://brave-captain.blogspot.com/2009/12/i.html
Wednesday, December 30, 2009. A Shot of Inspiration! I'm a big fan of Hugh MacLeod at gapingvoid.com. If anyone's found the balance between romanticism and realism, it's this guy. He's got a lot of great thoughts about dreaming big and making those dreams come true. His most recent post. Is pure genius: Don't just sit there and dream big dreams and make big plans and work out every detail, do something about it! Posted by Wally.Paxton. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
