And So Forth: If you're reading this at work, congratulate yourself!
http://and-so-forth.blogspot.com/2009/04/if-youre-reading-this-at-work.html
The world from my windows and the harmonies in my head. Saturday, April 04, 2009. If you're reading this at work, congratulate yourself! Surreptitious employees who use Internet for personal reasons at work will be thrilled with new research suggesting that workers are actually more productive when allowed to surf the Web freely during office hours. According to Dr. Brent Coker of the University of Melbourne. Second, work-life borders blur quickly online - in many cases, in the employers' favor. I am...

And So Forth: Fountain of Sorrow
http://and-so-forth.blogspot.com/2008/01/fountain-of-sorrow.html
The world from my windows and the harmonies in my head. Sunday, January 27, 2008. In high school and college, no singer spoke to me more than Jackson Browne. He was one of those artists that kind of dropped out of my listening habits with the years, mainly because I had all his music on (legal) cassettes. A while back, my daughter introduced me to Deezer. And I set up a Jackson Browne playlist. It's almost too painful for me to listen to, yet I keep coming back to it. Fountain of sorrow, fountain of light.

Petrol in a Puddle: A Powerful Mess
http://kristintungland.blogspot.com/2007/09/powerful-mess.html
Saturday, September 29, 2007. Reading this week's prompt. I can not remember feeling powerful much, ever, and in my early childhood definitely not at all. Nobody is less in control of their life and their circumstances than a young child. Perhaps most of them are not aware of this and so it does not scare them? I don't know about that. I know that I was very much aware of it. Or how. dumb? I know I knew. When do they first begin to wonder if life sucks? The first time they see their mother cry? I read a ...

A ClockWork-Chris: Sunday Scriblings #269 -FLOCK-
http://clockwork-chris.blogspot.com/2011/06/sunday-scriblings-269-flock.html
Sunday Scriblings #269 -FLOCK-. Animals follow in suite one after another. Having a leader but at the same time all equal. A flock does what is best for the group. The leader at that time staying rational. With us, the number of followers. Often fuels a leader with a power hungry addiction. Propelling them forward in bizarre directions. Both dangerous and devious. Much more preferable to see a flock of geese. Fertilizing as they walk through a yard. Than a flock of soldiers. Pillaging and bringing death.

A ClockWork-Chris: Carry on Tuesday #107 -So little done, so much to do-
http://clockwork-chris.blogspot.com/2011/06/carry-on-tuesday-107-so-little-done-so.html
Carry on Tuesday #107 -So little done, so much to do-. The speed of life for many. Seems to be at one extreme or the other. Flying by so swiftly that we can’t keep up. Or creeping by so leisurely that we become uninterested. With no happy medium in between. Is it really life that changes pace. Or our perception and state of mind. That make it what it is. A depressed person might ponder. So much to do, so little done. But are they really making progress. Past that which is simply necessary. Leave Links to...

A ClockWork-Chris: Bad Fruit
http://clockwork-chris.blogspot.com/2011/05/bad-fruit.html
You are the seed from which all this bad fruit is grown. And I put the bright red tape all around your tree. To keep others from the misfortune you have given me. I dug a shallow grave and dreamed of burying you. But like a perennial you just keep coming back. The communication between us I failed to understand. As if you were speaking in tongues all along. You bring out a side of me that no one else should see. And from my point of view they must all think I am crazy. Tuesday, May 31, 2011. 9 to 5 Poet.

A ClockWork-Chris: Phony
http://clockwork-chris.blogspot.com/2011/05/phony.html
Phony people collected in a room. Wasting space and breath. Longing to maintain the status quo. Taking turns regurgitating information. Never wanting to actually listen. When something worth saying is said. As time passes the lies mount up. But no one seems to notice. Each stuck in their own self-hypnotic trance. Paying too much attention to themselves. Will they ever learn. Tuesday, May 31, 2011. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Boring-land, NC, United States. View my complete profile. 9 to 5 Poet.

And So Forth: Bye, Bye Miss American Newspaper?
http://and-so-forth.blogspot.com/2009/03/bye-bye-miss-american-newspaper.html
The world from my windows and the harmonies in my head. Saturday, March 14, 2009. Bye, Bye Miss American Newspaper? Please don't go away - just get a business model, and fast! I just wrote a lengthy comment to. And decided to turn it into a post of my own, since it's a subject that is near and dear to my heart and one that I've been thinking about a lot lately. And apparently, as Marjorie points out,. Many Americans don't really care. Well, I care deeply about. The local paper that I grew up with. I woul...

And So Forth: Rock and roll: catch up or give up?
http://and-so-forth.blogspot.com/2009/04/rock-and-roll-catch-up-or-give-up.html
The world from my windows and the harmonies in my head. Wednesday, April 29, 2009. Rock and roll: catch up or give up? If you ever stop by this little-frequented blog, you will know that I am quite a music fan. And I'm not closed-minded. I have the requisite eclectic tastes: jazz, classical, la chanson française. But I'm quite sure you know what I know: ROCK AND ROLL RULES. Now that I've gotten that out of my system, let me also tell you I used to. It's a great place; I'm always going there to refresh my...
