Blogging Lent: Andy Crouch: Dead Authors Society

http://blogginglent.blogspot.com/2009/03/andy-crouch-dead-authors-society.html

An online community for people journeying toward an Easter celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Andy Crouch: Dead Authors Society. Posted by Robb Ryerse. Today, not my words, but those of Andy Crouch. Here. Is an article from 2001 in which Crouch discusses how our addiction to the what is easy, comfortable, and shallow has invaded the Christian marketplace, pushing out what is challenging, reflective - and necessary. Too much "bright," not enough "sadness.".

Blogging Lent: New Week, Renewed Focus

http://blogginglent.blogspot.com/2009/03/new-week-renewed-focus.html

An online community for people journeying toward an Easter celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. New Week, Renewed Focus. Posted by Robb Ryerse. But today, I am headed back to my normal routine, a routine I have missed. And this morning when the alarm went off, I thought, "I would love to go back to bed, but I just can't." I forced myself up, forced myself to post these thoughts on the blog, and I am about to force myself to take on a new day, a new week.

Blogging Lent: Bright Sadness

http://blogginglent.blogspot.com/2009/03/bright-sadness.html

An online community for people journeying toward an Easter celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Posted by Robb Ryerse. As I reflect on Lent this week, I am going to spend some time considering how Lent is referred to in Eastern Orthodox circles. It is called a season of Bright Sadness. Every once in a while you hear a great oymoronic phrase that sticks with you. Wounded healer, for instance. Bright Sadness is one such phrase. It captures much of the mystery of the Lenten journey.

Blogging Lent: Words

http://blogginglent.blogspot.com/2009/03/words.html

An online community for people journeying toward an Easter celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Posted by Robb Ryerse. Lately, words have been hard to come by for me. I started this blog in hopes of posting everyday about my Lenten journey. In actually, lately I've been posting a couple of times a week. Several times, I've sat down and tried to force myself to post. But the words just haven't been there. And I've just not had anything to say. Every day I die again, and again I’m reborn. In Le...

Blogging Lent: Guest Blogging

http://blogginglent.blogspot.com/2009/03/guest-blogging.html

An online community for people journeying toward an Easter celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Since Robb is flying the friendly skies this morning, I'm blogging Lent today. I've been scrambling a little trying to condense my experience so far into something blog-able. (I just made up a word! I gave up wine, and thereby, I gave up my evening ritual. And it's been hard. I don't think I'm an alcoholic (I thought this might be a good way to check! How's it going for you?

Momentary Stay Against Confusion: March 2009

http://againstconfusion.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

Momentary Stay Against Confusion. One more way for family and friends to keep up with our daily, and not so daily, grind. Tuesday, March 24, 2009. This is often said and most difficult to do. Our lives get so hectic, so busy that we always have something else to take us away from perhaps the greater work we have been called to do. Between finishing the book, The Shack, a recent conversation with a friend, and Robb's sermon on Sunday at Vintage Fellowship. So, what comes of all this thinkin'? I’ve n...

Momentary Stay Against Confusion: Week Two Done!

http://againstconfusion.blogspot.com/2009/03/week-two-done.html

Momentary Stay Against Confusion. One more way for family and friends to keep up with our daily, and not so daily, grind. Monday, March 2, 2009. I don’t know how long I can keep these titles up because really, I want the things I learn with WW to be on-going. When I reach my end goal which revolves around a specific weight goal, re-education, re-focusing the hierarchy of God and food, then I’ll be closer to where I want to be. And, let me tell you, tonight God was a cupcake. I am a self-proclaimed slug.

Giovedì 29 maggio 2008. Updating my Personal Learning Environment…. As I said at the end of the first semester, reflecting on your own PLE is really important because it makes you think about the way you learn and by thinking about your learning structures, you can realize if the method you are using is good or if it can be improved and developed. Has something changed during the second semester in the organisation of my English learning? First of all the Web source. Speaking with the American students o...

Blogging As I Learn It

Be a Better Writer. Wednesday, June 17, 2015. Are you a good enough writer? Michelle L. Grewe. One bad advice people will tell you is, "In order to grow and be famous, you have to have quality writing. If your work is good, people will share it." That rudely implies, especially in the bigger blogger world, if you have been writing for some time and didn't get famous, that's because your writing sucks, work on that. You Have to Suck at Writing to Get Paid for It. Use headings and subheadings. Yes Some of ...

Blogging Lent

An online community for people journeying toward an Easter celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Each day of Lent 2009, I am going to blog about my spiritual journey. I hope you'll join the conversation about what God is doing in your life during this season. Either way, most people end up asking the question, "Where is God? The idea is that if God were here, this wouldn't have happened. It's another way of saying, "Why would God allow this to happen? Do we end up blaming God? In recent years,...

Blogging Lent 2012

Saturday, July 14, 2012. Last night, our writer’s group, plus Laura, gathered at ZUMC to provide evening activities for our IHN (Inter-Faith Hospitality Network) guests. From their website, IHN’s Mission Statement is:. I had very little idea what I was getting myself into, and was a bit anxious and nervous, compounded by the fact that I am battling an upper respiratory infection and had effectively lost my voice. Of course God wanted my sons and me to participate in this outreach event, but not to minist...

I've just completed Tony Parsons book "Starting Over". In an interview at the back of the book he reflects on what makes a novel. Experience (life as you have lived it), research (life as others have lived it) and imagination (life as you can imagine it). Our yoga toolbox is not so unlike the writers toolbox!
