Bloggin' from SA WC '10. Monday, 21 June 2010. Day 3 – The Cradle of Humankind and Spain v Honduras. A slow start to the day, a leisurely breakfast at Northcliff Manor and another excellent one. We also enjoyed another ‘deep’ conversation with our Mexican friends that are staying here during which I think we dealt quite thoroughly with the geopolitical and social attitudes of different countries and groupings of countries. This was not about football! Then we headed back to Johannesburg for the match.

We departed from the guest house at 6.30am and Ilse very kind left us out some packed breakfasts with each of our names on and a kiss each for the journey. The Mexicans depart today which meant long farewells and we will miss them (picture with the Mexicans and Ilse and Johnny, Ilse to my left and Johnny with the grey beard). Bloggin' from SA WC '10. Monday, 21 June 2010. Day 1 – Settling in. An overnight flight punctuated by the surprising and very disappointing news that England had only managed a draw with Algeria. At least we didn’t have to watch it! All went smoothly on arrival with the many things that we had to do, including, most importantly picking up our match tickets which we printed out by automated machines.
