Why Dressing the Well? Why Dressing the Well? I grew up in Yorkshire, England, just across the border from Derbyshire. In each of the small villages of Derbyshire there is a well dating back to times when that was the source of water for the village. This is a detail showing the petals. The Battle of Agincourt occurred on this day in 1415, and also the Charge of the Light Brigade on the same day in 1854. Truly, a historic day. Could it be that I have pirates in my ancestry? I definitely have an affinity for the ocean.
