Friday, September 29, 2006. The vagabond I love. Traveling dusty roads to nowhere. Under skys ev'ry shade of blue. Spaghetti made of your shoestrings. Warming palms at crackling embers. Slipping over polished rocks. Foot falling into soft sandy bottom. Aiming for the bright moon. Rising above the black pine tree line. Huddled in the chill with nothing to share. Except the whole wide world. Posted by phil at 11:15 PM. Wednesday, September 27, 2006. At the edge of a Mars' Crater. Victoria Crater is about f...

Originally, the dish used goat meat and now mostly made with lamb. However, lamb can be expensive here and the taste can be too sweet and gamy. My recipe uses pork stew meat. The reason I use pork versus beef is I will brown the pork first to create a fond. Ingredients (shown in the picture above, click on pic to enlarge):.

My mother used to make it this way. Other recipes I’ve seen use andouille sausage, bacon or tasso (Cajun ham). The reason I chose Kielbasa is I will share this with my neighbor and as a plain Midwestern version. You can spice this up all you want, I’m not a big cayenne pepper fan. 1 TBSP olive oil. 1 cup or 1 medium onion, chopped. Add the...

Sunday, October 29, 2006. It's the birthday of the most beautiful woman in the world. My muse for stories, poems, and vignettes. A stunning actress and compassionate vanquisher of social causes. She turns night into day with a luminosity that comes from within. Ok, I'm infatuated. :). Posted by phil at 2:14 PM. Thursday, October 19, 2006. Song of the day. Tuesday, August 29, 2006. I love this woman's singing. From Barnsley, England, Kate Rusby. Has an endearing voice singing both traditional Folk and self-penned tunes. Her latest cd, my favorite, is The Girl Who Couldn't Fly. There's just a touch of melancholy, yet in this time of 'popular' singer's voices drowning in the heavy sauce of production, Kate's voice soars to the front. Some music samples of Kate at her site right here. Posted by phil at 10:14 PM. Wednesday, August 23, 2006. Volim te, Fred!

The diaries of R.A.D. Stainforth, the last man in Europe, or his footprints on the sands of time. My Personal Assistant, Miss McKenzie. The Queen of Gastroporn. Only dull people are brilliant at breakfast. This is the best of me; for the rest, I ate, and drank, and slept, loved and hated, like another: my life was as the vapour and is not; but. I saw and knew; this, if anything of mine, is worth your memory. Whatever people say I am, that’s what I’m not. Saturday Night and Sunday Morning. How I Waste Time.
