Happy Pants!: January 2005
http://happypantsonline.blogspot.com/2005_01_01_archive.html
Things have never been more like they are right now. Monday, January 31, 2005. Thank god January is finally over. It always feels like the longest, most wretched month of the year to me. I don't know why. Probably coming off the holidays and feeling broke from the holidays or the shitty weather or all of the above. It's been snowing here a lot lately. I never thought I'd say this, but I'm ready for summer. Maybe I'll go to bed early and read. I don't do that enough. Posted by mrhappypants @ 10:40 PM.

Happy Pants!: the end is near
http://happypantsonline.blogspot.com/2006/01/end-is-near.html
Things have never been more like they are right now. Sunday, January 15, 2006. The end is near. I sat down to pay some bills this morning and came across the monthly horror show that is our gas statement. I tore it open, unfolded the four or five pages explaining the charges and saw the bottom line: $353.18. How the shit are they supposed to suddenly come up with a few hundred extra dollars? I can't believe the leaders of this country haven't recognized the national energy crisis and demanded drastic, em...

Happy Pants!: i think i'm going to throw up
http://happypantsonline.blogspot.com/2006/02/i-think-im-going-to-throw-up.html
Things have never been more like they are right now. Tuesday, February 21, 2006. I think i'm going to throw up. This image from the Hubble telescope shows innumerable galaxies slowly spinning in deep space. If you could travel at the speed of light, it would take you 100-thousand years to go from one end of our own Milkyway galaxy to the other. And that's just one, relatively humble little galaxy. Look at all those fricking galaxies! Posted by mrhappypants @ 12:04 PM. View my complete profile.

Happy Pants!: a big change in my life
http://happypantsonline.blogspot.com/2006/01/big-change-in-my-life.html
Things have never been more like they are right now. Friday, January 27, 2006. A big change in my life. This morning I opened my underwear drawer and found it empty, except for a single pair of boxers. It's the only pair of boxers I own. I don't wear tighty-whities. But rather the hybrid kind. This is easily the biggest change in my life since around this time last year when I decided to start dressing like someone who cared about they way they look. Posted by mrhappypants @ 7:28 AM. The end is near.

Happy Pants!: October 2004
http://happypantsonline.blogspot.com/2004_10_01_archive.html
Things have never been more like they are right now. Sunday, October 31, 2004. This isn't superstition. It's a natural fact. You can take it to the bank! Of course, since the Red Sox. Totally fucked up a nearly 90-year tradition by winning the World Series this year, I suppose. It's possible the Redskins could fuck up their record as well. Posted by mrhappypants @ 6:20 PM. Friday, October 29, 2004. Posted by mrhappypants @ 9:00 AM. Thursday, October 28, 2004. Look at me, i'm an asshole. Is sorely lacking...

Happy Pants!: March 2005
http://happypantsonline.blogspot.com/2005_03_01_archive.html
Things have never been more like they are right now. Thursday, March 31, 2005. Jim's journal for 03-31-2005. Someone noted today how I never talk about work on my blog. This is true. And it's actually pretty hard to avoid sometimes. There are plenty of times I'd like to piss and moan about this, that or the other, but it's best left alone. I will say that I had a lovely lunch. With two of my favorite people today. It was the bright spot on an otherwise gloomy, overcast day in DC. Chilly, too. Anyway, I d...

Happy Pants!: April 2005
http://happypantsonline.blogspot.com/2005_04_01_archive.html
Things have never been more like they are right now. Wednesday, April 27, 2005. Posted by mrhappypants @ 10:04 PM. Jim's journal for 04-27-2005. I'm certain anyone living in the DC area would agree with me that today was quite possibly the most beautiful spring day in the history of spring days. Just the perfect temperature. Sunny. A gentle breeze. I drove into work this morning, but it was so nice this evening that I left my car there and walked home. Posted by mrhappypants @ 9:58 PM. Are you my Arthur?

Happy Pants!: December 2004
http://happypantsonline.blogspot.com/2004_12_01_archive.html
Things have never been more like they are right now. Wednesday, December 29, 2004. Top ten worst albums of 2004. I won't be wasting bandwith on any audio samples. Crazier than a shithouse rat has-been releases "the greatest album that never was." Please. I recognize its importance historically, but I'd sooner chew my nuts off than sit through the whole thing. How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb. See comments on U2 above. This is the live version of one of the worst albums of all time, The Raven. I love you, ...

Happy Pants!: November 2004
http://happypantsonline.blogspot.com/2004_11_01_archive.html
Things have never been more like they are right now. Tuesday, November 30, 2004. Jim's journal for 11-30-2004. Today's edition of Jim's Journal. (Warning, this may be more action than you're accustomed to). Posted by mrhappypants @ 8:14 PM. Monday, November 29, 2004. Shame for a salaried man. I'm not sure what the solution is. But I'll give it a little more thought tonight while I drink my imported beer and watch Monday night football in the comfort of my over-stuffed yuppy chair from Storehouse. Well, M...

Happy Pants!: not playing world of warcraft
http://happypantsonline.blogspot.com/2006/02/not-playing-world-of-warcraft.html
Things have never been more like they are right now. Thursday, February 16, 2006. Not playing world of warcraft. Anyway, I say as much because I don't want my one or two readers to assume I'm not updating my blog because I'm too busy slaying ogres outside camp Arathi. That said, I have to call bullshit on the latest issue of Vanity Fair. And it's big "Tom Ford's Hollywood" spread. It's been getting a lot of attention because the cover features a totally naked Scarlett Johansson and Keira Knightley.
