Keith's Wargaming / Painting Blog: Warhammer: Blood In The Badlands - A Review
http://brownk29.blogspot.com/2011/12/warhammer-blood-in-badlands-review.html
Keith's Wargaming / Painting Blog. Sunday, 11 December 2011. Warhammer: Blood In The Badlands - A Review. So 'Blood in the Bandlands' is a new Warhammer book from Games Workshop, it's a bit different from their usual offerings, it's not an armies book nor a full blown rules supplement. It's what they call a campaign book, which turns out to a mix of a giant white dwarf article with some new rules sprinkled across it. Tucked away at the end are a few pages describing updated rules for playing seiges and u...

Keith's Wargaming / Painting Blog: Dreadfleet Unboxing
http://brownk29.blogspot.com/2011/10/dreadfleet-unboxing.html
Keith's Wargaming / Painting Blog. Wednesday, 5 October 2011. As well as the 10 big ships there are also 7 little ships, a dragon and an airship that are carried by the big ships, these are characterful little pieces and I like the dragon in particular. There are also 3 sea monsters that the fate cards throw into the game, these work like the little ships in the game. I'm particulary fond of the sea-giant rising up out of the ocean. Some of the peices on the game mat. Grimnirs Thunder and the Swordfysh.

Keith's Wargaming / Painting Blog: Mantic Plastic-Resin Wraiths
http://brownk29.blogspot.com/2011/07/mantic-plastic-resin-wraiths.html
Keith's Wargaming / Painting Blog. Sunday, 17 July 2011. I've purchased a box of Mantic Games Wraiths to expand my warhammer vampire counts army, these are the first models I've bought that are made out of Mantics plastic-resin material. They come in the slim Mantic hard plastic case, which I'm a big fan of they're really useful storage boxes. I actually prefer the slimmer 'small' boxes as they take the models better. Here is a picture of 5 of the wraiths aseembled, the box contains two each of these.

Keith's Wargaming / Painting Blog. Friday, 20 March 2015. Off Topic: Eclipse Experience. I woke up to a dense layer of cloud in my section of Bedfordshire this morning and to say I was disappointed would be an understatement, but as I'm watching the coverage on the telly I decide to quickly pop outside and double check, and just at the right moment the cloud started to break! I only got a glimpse for a few minutes, but did manage to snap the above photo try a small timelapse experiment;. David Manley's N...

Keith's Wargaming / Painting Blog: Reaper Bones Great Mummy
http://brownk29.blogspot.com/2015/04/reaper-bones-great-mummy.html
Keith's Wargaming / Painting Blog. Monday, 13 April 2015. Reaper Bones Great Mummy. What arrived is shown above, a slightly squashed soft plastic figure. It appears to be similar plastic to the Mantic Mars Attacks stuff. That I got recently. The squashed problem was easily solved by immersing the figure in nearly boiling water. The detail is pretty good, better than I was expecting to be honest. Although looking through the range the sculpting quality does seem very variable. One last point is that he wa...

Keith's Wargaming / Painting Blog: Start of My Kings of War Nature Army
http://brownk29.blogspot.com/2015/02/start-of-my-kings-of-war-nature-army.html
Keith's Wargaming / Painting Blog. Wednesday, 4 February 2015. Start of My Kings of War Nature Army. A little while I backed Mantic's Kings of War second edition kickstarter, not pledging a huge amount, but enough to get the rulebook, plus the bonus stuff, and a Forces of Nature starter army. After the kickstarter had finished we had a quick play with the first edition rules and that whetted my appetite to start preparing for when the kickstarter package finally arrives. Keith's Wargaming / Painting Blog. Sunday, 19 April 2015. Army Focus - Warhammer Fantasy Dogs of War. It's been over a year since I last dug out one of my collections of painted minis for a photo-shoot (although there has been a couple of looks at some prepaints inbetween), this time I've settled on my Dogs Of War army for Warhammer Fantasy. Dwarf Slayer Pirates, my favorite unit in the army. 5th edition; when two giants and a wizard was a suitable regiment. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Warpath: F...
