First day of Forever. This could take a while. Thursday, November 5, 2009. Vacation, not so much. C) on a lake, and d) near some activities. After much searching, we found one near Lake Itasca, with a pontoon and a hot tub. The nice old widower who owns it was going to give us a great deal, since it was October and all. First day of Forever. This could take a while. Monday, July 27, 2009. Disappointed and then all better. BUT, when I got home, there were FLOWERS waiting on my porch! My favorite 3 1/2 month old friend sent me birthday chrysanthemums (he's very smart). Purple ones! He may or may not have had help from his mother in dialing the florist. Hard to say. Monday, December 22, 2008. Nothing Says Christmas Like Stars and Pigs. We decided to make Christmas Cookies this weekend. Christian sat in his high chair and watched me cut out stars and pigs from sugar cookies and gingerbread dough. Yes, stars and pigs. I realized that I have Halloween cookie cutters, 8 different star cookie cutters, and two pig cookie cutters. No Christmas cookie cutters. So Richard and I decorated pigs and stars. My husband decided it would be better to rely on Molly's camera rather than take pictures with ours. Monday, November 24, 2008. My Mom Text Messaging. My mom finally bought a cell phone. I'm so used to her not having a cell phone, that I forget to call her on it. While I was talking to her today, I realized she has the ability to send and receive text messages. I teased her that I was going to send her six text messages a day. Cross posted: a not-so-vegetarian stew. 2 tablespoons canola oil, divided. 1 tablespoon butter, divided. 1/4 cup all-purpose flour. 2 pounds boneless chuck roast, trimmed and cut into 1-inch cubes. 1 teaspoon salt, divided. 5 cups chopped onion (about 3 onions). 1 tablespoon tomato paste. 4 cups fat-free, less-sodium beef broth. 1 teaspoon caraway seeds.

Wednesday, August 18, 2010. Kale Soup for Everyone. I've been holding onto this recipe for the longest time. Now that we have an abundance of kale (and tomatoes), I made it for dinner. Richard spent hours strategically placing our Christmas lights on our house weeks before Thanksgiving. But we forgot one important step in the process of preparing for Christmas: cards. In the past, we started planning weeks before Thanksgiving. We always do a photo card. 2006 - Richard and I relaxing on the couch.

The poor cats haven't figured out how to get around it which has made for some amusing acrobatic moves by Maddy. Hee hee. We usually leave it open unless Christian is on the move.
