Sky Islands Awarded Arts Learning Grant. Posted on July 10, 2015 in What's New? The Arizona Commission on the Arts has awarded Sky Islands a 2015-16 Arts Learning Grant. The grant will help support the exciting new. Lead Guitar program to start in August. Lead Guitar is taught in 60 public schools across five states, including the Aspen Music Festival. Wild Weather Workshop Summer Program. Posted on July 2, 2015 in Photo Archive. Sky Islands kicked off its first summer program this June, taught by Sky Islands’ teacher Zak Cushing, and Lindsay Maudlin, a doctoral student in Atmospheric Sciences, and local weather experts, including Andreas Hohl, weather photographer. The class traveled to KOLD 13 to meet weather anchor Erin Jordan and see first hand how weather forecasts are made (as well as experience the green screen! 6000 E 14th Street.
