Bluegrass Tri Chick: 2015 Heart & Sole Triathlon Race Report
http://bluegrasstrichick.blogspot.com/2015/05/2015-heart-sole-triathlon-race-report.html
Injury prone, mid to back of packer just tri-ing to get to the finish line in one piece! Sunday, May 3, 2015. 2015 Heart and Sole Triathlon Race Report. About 3 weeks ago was the Heart and Sole triathlon in Versailles. This was the 3rd year in a row competing in this race. (2013 and 2014 race reports HERE. Will be a completely different story. I quickly set up my transition and then went to chat with the Smiley garage ladies. The swim was seeded and the interval was 15 seconds which works so, so well....

Injury prone, mid to back of packer just tri-ing to get to the finish line in one piece! Monday, April 22, 2013. Heart and Sole Race Report. This weekend started off my triathlon season with the local 10th annual Heart and Sole Sprint. Most of the week was warm but Friday a cold front came through. At race time the temperature was a balmy 34 degrees but at least it was sunny! The race start time was 9AM which is a late start for a triathlon. It was nice to not have to get up at 5AM for once. The race was...

Injury prone, mid to back of packer just tri-ing to get to the finish line in one piece! Sunday, January 25, 2015. Week 1 of a New Plan. At this months Bluegrass Tri Club's. Kick off Steve won this. Since he has no desire of doing a triathlon ever I was the lucky recipient! The options are Olympic or Half Iron. I found some training plans on Beginner Triathlete. Today, Sunday January 25th, is exactly 16 weeks out but I already made an adjustment to the plan because yesterday we woke up to this. I move in...

Injury prone, mid to back of packer just tri-ing to get to the finish line in one piece! Saturday, April 26, 2014. 2014 Heart and Sole Race Report. Today was the 11th annual Heart and Sole sprint triathlon and my first triathlon of 2014. The weather was absolutely fabulous this year. Last year, the day before a cold front came through and we had a very cold race. This year, a warm front moved through so the starting temperature was a sunny 48F at 8AM and warmed up very quickly from there. Last year I too...

Being More Than Mommy: April 2014
http://beingmorethanmommy.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Being More Than Mommy. Wednesday, April 30, 2014. Here are a few reflections from my 55 mile ride today:. Riding a bike is fun. I love the sun. Riding a bike in the sun increases the fun of biking. I need new bike shorts. If it's sunny, you should wear sunscreen. If it's a beautiful day, chances are you won't be alone on the trail. Around mile 48, I wanted to punch people in the face (I was hot and tired and hungry). A lot of people roller blade. I need new bike shorts. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Being More Than Mommy: May 2014
http://beingmorethanmommy.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Being More Than Mommy. Saturday, May 24, 2014. Two weeks from right now, I'll (hopefully) be on the run in Boise. I'm finally starting to get excited. I'm still nervous and wonder if I've done enough to prepare. I try to look back at what I did last year and compare. I'm pretty sure I didn't feel totally prepared last year either. I am confident I can finish the race. I'm confident I can improve on last year. Is there really anything else I need to do? Swim-38:00 (2 minutes faster than last year). A litt...

Tri Fatty: October 2014
http://www.trifatty.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
My journey from lazy fatty to ass-kicking triathlete. Sunday, October 19, 2014. I began this journey, I thought, to become an athlete again. And I've made strides:. I've been running regularly since January. I ran two 10Ks this summer (two weeks apart). I'm training for my first half-marathon. I'm finally feeling like returning to the pool and bike. And while waiting at the parking lot for my family it hit me! I don't just want to be athletic. I want to live. I mean really live. Links to this post.
Tri Fatty: Delayed Onset Puberty
http://www.trifatty.com/2012/11/delayed-onset-puberty_8.html
My journey from lazy fatty to ass-kicking triathlete. Thursday, November 8, 2012. I've been thinking long and hard about my life (always dangerous). I want to do many more races and I want to get my family involved in racing and do all kinds of active things together with them before my daughter leaves the nest. I'm hoping that taking charge of another part of my life will lead to even more changes for the better (I keep house like I live in a dorm room unfortunately for my poor, sainted wife). I kee...

My journey from lazy fatty to ass-kicking triathlete. Tuesday, October 23, 2012. While I was waiting for code to compile I was going through my RSS feeds and stumbled upon this. So, tomorrow I'm going to set my watch for 5 minutes, turn off my monitors and just concentrate on my breathing and nothing else for that time. I'm very lucky in that right now I don't share an office with someone full time so I can close my door and be completely by myself. Oddly enough, the time I spend in triathlon training is...

My journey from lazy fatty to ass-kicking triathlete. Thursday, July 26, 2012. Questions for Mirinda Carfrae. I'm coming up with a list of conversation starters in case I'm ever cruising down the marathon course at Kona alongside Mirinda Carfrae. 1) What gear do you ride in? 2) Don't you hate it when you un-clip on the wrong side? 3) Manchester United or Liverpool? 4) I never thought I'd wear a mankini but I think I'm rockin' it, amirite? 5) Ever read "Born to Run"? Anyone have any better ideas? Today, w...

My journey from lazy fatty to ass-kicking triathlete. Friday, April 27, 2012. I Want It Now! 8220;Adopt the pace of nature; her secret is patience.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson. I got thinking today why I fail so often when I set out to do something for myself. Very often, as I've said before. I start exercising and I plateau but I want to hurry up and get fit enough to run a marathon. I start on Weight Watchers. I'm hoping now that I've recognized what I'm doing I can stop, think about the long haul, and make...

My journey from lazy fatty to ass-kicking triathlete. Tuesday, June 26, 2012. Yesterday I had my one thousandth page view. No, you are not allowed to ask if I count my own. But, in honor of this amazing milestone I will regale you with a tale of perseverance in the face of almost unimaginable adversity. Last week on my first trip to the pool, I took a deep breath, sucked in my gut and took my shirt off (yes, they should. Links to this post. Thursday, June 21, 2012. Would have been enough for me to rol...
