Tuesday, September 6, 2011. Woke up in Winslow, Arizona, and what else could we do? Afterward, we had breakfast in Holbrook at Mr. Maestas diner, one of Rt. 66's kitchy places. When we arrived at my brother's house in CA last night around 9:15, it seemed like bad form to start blogging before saying hello! 375 mpg (average- assisted by Pete putting the cruise control on 100 mph in Nevada. Monday, September 5, 2011. Today was Grand Canyon day. It was beautiful and grand, as expected. We hiked around a bit and took the requisite too many photos. Here are just a few.
