Every year it is time to pull out the recipe books and come up with something special to treat our neighbours and their guests with a very special dinner party. With the cooler weather upon us I wanted a menu packed with 1.rich flavours and 2.delicious food, yet 3.wouldn't leave us over-stuffed at the end of the night. I only achieved two out of the three. Then the Beef Wellington.

The lemon and ginger flavours are subtle, yet delicious. Lemon and Ginger Cake. 1 tbsp golden syrup. 1 cup plain flour. 1 cup sr flour. 1 tbsp ground ginger. This tart is amazing, and best assembled close to serving. It is quite simple, and you can prepare everything beforehand. Here is the recipe. I used, from Elise at Simply Recipes. I substituted the balsamic with Maggie Beer's Vino Cotto. And I used my favourite short crust pastry recipe as follows:. 1 cup plain flour.
