Where Our Journey Began. Thursday, January 01, 2015. Rock Paper Scissors to determine who get to open the tree. We had to buy a new tree this year since the lights on our old one weren't working. After several years of intending to, I finally got bells to go on our tree. This is such a beautiful smile! Ammon got a customized shirt for Battle of the Books. We had an awesome fondu part to celebrate me getting home from my trip. While I was gone, the boys (and Andrew) learned some things about archery.

Where Our Journey Began. Tuesday, October 28, 2014. As it turned out, he didn't get the job. BUT he got some valuable feedback and good practice interviewing for a management position. Andrew put in a few other applications for some bigger stores in Fairbanks and Anchorage. Originally they wanted Andrew to start three weeks later but then they scheduled a district training for that week up in Juneau. Everyone felt that it would be less ideal for Andrew to move here just in time to leave for that trip...

Where Our Journey Began. Wednesday, September 25, 2013. Adventures in Moving Preparations. My quick view of Seattle. Well, we got "the" job. Actually, it was a better job than we were expecting it to be and my husband was offered the very top pay for his position, so in addition to feeling very inspired, it also turned out to be fairly flattering. But, we didn't get it. We wanted to take both vehicles with us, but with our tight moving budget and the logistical concerns of getting the moving truck up in ...

Where Our Journey Began. Monday, November 25, 2013. What We've Been Up To. For a few weeks we were pretty good about getting out and exploring our new home. But winter is settling in and we are getting more into the basics of life. I decided to look back and see what pictures I've taken over the past few weeks. They don't account for everything we've done, but gave me some good reminders of what we've been up to. The boys have been getting in good brother time. They love to read together and play games.

Where Our Journey Began. Tuesday, November 25, 2014. We loved Ketchikan. Andrew had never been so happy with work and the financial strain had been anticipated. Life there wasn't perfect, but the trials were forgettable at most and it was restful. Then we moved to Craig. I've been listening to Christmas music and can't help but feel blessed. Then, on occasion, a song will come on that reminds me that things are this easy for everyone - that things haven't always been this easy for me. And I am ce...For u...

Where Our Journey Began. Wednesday, December 17, 2014. It was a regular Wednesday afternoon when Jon called me, almost desperate in his pleas for information, "Do you know what is happening with Grandpa? Jon explained his question citing a text his mom had forwarded to him having originated from Grandma. With both of us completely confused, I told Jon that I would call my mom immediately and see what she might know (since Grandma lives there with her). I was back on the phone with my mom and within minut...

Where Our Journey Began. Monday, March 24, 2014. Middle Child and Missionary Work. When we asked him why he would hit his brother, be blatantly disobedient to Dad, or be deliberately disrespectful to Mom he would always give some explanation about how he had a bad day. Somehow, because his day was rough, he decided that everyone's day should be rough. The scripture actually seemed to have a positive impact on him and his behavior began to improve. We were still far from perfect, however, and one afte...

Where Our Journey Began. Monday, December 30, 2013. How Do You Eat Your Oreo? I think the most unexpected reaction on Christmas morning was captured in this picture. As a last minute whim, Santa included a group gift to the male members of the family:. They were a HIT! Watching them eat their cookies was as fun as watching them open the gift. Apparently the three male members of my family each have their own technique. Ammon likes to twist the top off,. Eat the frosting from the middle,. Andrew had to wo...
