The Red Pantry: October 2013
http://theredpantry.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 26, 2013. Waiting for heat to arrive. It is 6 am on Saturday and Irv is up in CT solo this weekend. I just checked the weather and it is 28 degrees and there is still not a working furnace in the house. Ouch he must be cold! Hopefully today the new furnance gets its test run as the plumbers were there yesterday working on it. With the exception of the heating system, he is happy that now both boats - Tashtego 1 and Tashtego 2 are now up in CT at their new home. Tuesday, October 22, 2013.

The Red Pantry: April 2014
http://theredpantry.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 28, 2014. Goat on the Goat House. The yard is now cleaned up and seeded thanks to Jim, George and Dave referred by my Dad. Now the detail work (weeding, edging and planting) is up to me and will be my summer and fall project ( along with some clean up of 'the doll house' and 'the goat house'.) Irv surprised me with a permanent 'goat on things' (see 'goatonthings.tumblr.com) gift - a goat weathervane so a goat will always be on the roof. Caught in the act. And I had been just thinking how th...

The Red Pantry: For the Birds
http://theredpantry.blogspot.com/2014/06/for-birds.html
Sunday, June 8, 2014. Despite the crazy dog, it was a spectacular weekend weather wise. I saw egrets in the marsh, a hummingbird in our flowers and Irv and I saw two Baltimore Orioles in our backyard. Later in the day, we got to launch one boat then watch our septic system overflow. Let me explain. First, over a year ago Irv built a wood dinghy. Beautiful small boat that until this weekend never saw water. We brought it over to my parents where we got to give her a maiden voyage- yea! Tashtegos launch an...

The Red Pantry: January 2014
http://theredpantry.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 22, 2014. I did not expect the snow but it is winter so I guess I should not be surprised. If you have to get stuck somewhere by snow, it might as well be here at the hippie house where we have plenty of work to do and a cozy fireplace. This weekend Irv and I did the following glamorous things ( not in glam order):. 1 Cleaned up dog vomit. 2 Cleaned up dog vomit again except this time off the (NEW) couch. 3 Washed previously mentioned dog vomit from couch and blankets. The good news is...

The Red Pantry: Tashtego's launch and Norman's Seafaring Adventure
http://theredpantry.blogspot.com/2014/06/tashtego-launch-and-norman-seafaring.html
Tuesday, June 3, 2014. Tashtegos launch and Normans Seafaring Adventure. This past week was quite momentous for us. First, Tashtego (Irv's beloved Bristol Skiff) finally saw water for the first time in over a year. When we returned from England Irv got the good news that there was a slip available in a marina close to the Hippie House. And he loved the ride! Note my restraining him. He just wanted to push the envelope. Footnote: I should note that someone did take the Buddha statute on the trail (sad!

The Red Pantry: Buddha, Boy Scouts and a Bathtub
http://theredpantry.blogspot.com/2014/04/buddha-boy-scouts-and-bathtub.html
Monday, April 7, 2014. Buddha, Boy Scouts and a Bathtub. Spring is finally here and we spent the weekend at the hippie house ( I hadn't visited for a month) assessing the state of the yard and ( of course) painting. We managed to get in touch with a few landscapers so April we will see some serious yard and garden clean up - yea! We are making some progress on the two upstairs bedrooms and bathroom. It seems the trim painting is endless but 'Abby's' room as we call it is nearly done. Irv will paint the o...

The Red Pantry: February 2014
http://theredpantry.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 15, 2014. A Weekend for Soup. When it comes to my top ten favorite cookbooks (and I counted recently- I have 175 in my personal collection and another 150 for sale when we have room in the Studio), The Daily Soup is my go to book for soup. Who is hoarding the barley? Monday, February 3, 2014. A long and snowy winter. Love the colors on these Foo dogs. Watch for a new birdhouse in these Easter colors. I didn't like the color choice but I loved the feet on this table. Weird and creep...

The Red Pantry: March 2014
http://theredpantry.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 30, 2014. Who Thought Trenton could be so Hip? This weekend was another Filling Station Studios weekend with my partner Nancy and I holding our March Open House this weekend. The small paintings are very popular, especially the goats which I love. What is it about the goats? They are so charming! I mean REALLY huge. So many young talented artists. The place (old Roebling works) was fabulous and such a great vibe. Lots of young families and our favorite - Food Trucks! Saturday, March 15, 2014.

The Red Pantry: November 2013
http://theredpantry.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 28, 2013. I have just boarded the train in Westerly on my way to Trenton. I got the only seat left and because it is pouring rain I am sitting in the 'drip' seat where water is dripping on my arm like a water torture. Lucky me. If I hold my arm behind me it drips on the seat but I don't think I can hold that position for 4 hours! Nancy and her daughter Abby came up to CT this weekend. We found a fabulous cider mill where they press cider using a steam engine. It is Very Quiet Here.
