Blue Roads to Hiking Trails: Playing Tour Guide
http://blueroadstohikingtrails.blogspot.com/2012/09/playing-tour-guide.html
Blue Roads to Hiking Trails. Roadtripping with Gene and Judi. The Road to Full-Timing. Living in a Class C. Tuesday, September 18, 2012. Doug and Cheryl arrived Sunday afternoon just shortly before the rain moved in. But, we weren’t going to let a little rain get in our way. Monday morning, bright and early (well, not so bright with all the clouds), we loaded in the car for a tour of Maryville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, the northwest side of the National Park, and Townsend. We spent most of our time insi...

Blue Roads to Hiking Trails. Roadtripping with Gene and Judi. The Road to Full-Timing. Living in a Class C. The Road to Full-Timing. We love to travel; who doesn’t? The thought of going to a National Park like Yellowstone, Yosemite, or the Great Smoky Mountains and stay a month hiking and exploring was intoxicating. Figuring out a way to make that happen took hours upon hours of discussion. We bought a larger tent, we bought cots, we bought a dining canopy, we bought a BIG cooler, and we bought a minivan...

Blue Roads to Hiking Trails. Roadtripping with Gene and Judi. The Road to Full-Timing. Living in a Class C. Tuesday, July 31, 2012. Gene was searching through the guidebook for a hike to do on Monday. With the heat of summer it is hard to find something suitable that isn’t at high elevation. When he came upon what the guidebook suggests as one of the finest hikes in the Smokies, how could we pass that up? Just past this last creek crossing, we came to backcountry campsite 12. If you were backpacking ...

Blue Roads to Hiking Trails. Roadtripping with Gene and Judi. The Road to Full-Timing. Living in a Class C. Friday, September 21, 2012. West Prong Trail Reopened. This log is going to be a nice resting log for a long time to come. It was a good day for hot tea with lunch. At 27 miles West Prong Trail ends at the junction with Bote Mountain Trail. Going right at this junction would take us 1.2 miles to Laurel Creek Road which would be a nice 8-mile hike. We opted to go left for just three-tent...Love your...

Blue Roads to Hiking Trails. Roadtripping with Gene and Judi. The Road to Full-Timing. Living in a Class C. Sunday, September 9, 2012. A Round On The Maryville Greenway. Some days there seems to be more to do than we can get done, certainly more than we can get done and also got for a hike. But on those days we still want to get a little exercise so we choose the Maryville Greenway. For our most recent walk, we started at Sandy Springs Park and walked to the end of the Greenway at Foothills School. T...

Wandering America: August 2013

Thursday, August 22, 2013. Wrapping It All Up. When we last posted we were in Holly, Michigan building a bridge over the Pond Koi (the goldfish pond). From there we headed north to Petoskey, Michigan to visit with John and Della (Judy’s brother). Other than purchase some fresh produce and a whole bunch of steaks at our favorite butcher’s, we didn’t do anything special. . The causeway to the lighthouse runs right next to the State Park. The park was packed with RVs parked right on the shorelin...Next o...

Tuesday, July 31, 2012. Fireworks Over The Bay. Yesterday morning we did a few chores around the house, made a Home Depot and Walmart run, and stopped by the bank to deposit large sums of money (wifey comment, “Yeah, right! 8221;). We were able to get the material needed to repair the water filtration system so I will be able to get that back on line shortly. Other than that, w*rk encompassed the rest of our day so there’s not a whole lot to tell. Darrell and Judy Patterson. Monday, July 30, 2012.

BLUE ROADS AND BOONDOCKING
Monday, December 7, 2015. ANOTHER WINTER OF BLUE ROADS. The search for dry weather necessitated a change of schedule and direction from the Atlantic shore to southwest desert, posthaste. After a few days of grinding out miles on the interstate highways escaping the freezing northern temps we swung onto the Great River Road following the Mississippi River to Vicksburg, MS for one last motel evening before readying the RV for our winter home. So, until another time- happy trails and safe travels. Monday, September 24, 2012. Rocky Top- not the song, but the place. The Art in my life
The Art in my life. Sunday, March 15, 2015. On March 12th, I went out for a hike to shoot some data (since it's not really film anymore) and found myself skipping lunch and spending about 6 hours in the woods along the Minnesota River near Saint Peter. It was a fantastic experience. I took 600 some images. This post will be dedicated to the ice that is now gone. In post production as I was playing with settings, I found that ice looks really cool (pun intended) by changing the saturation. If you find any...
