In the heart of laughter is God, tickling me like a baby. Anger, envy, sadness gone. When I laugh, I am joyful, content, sexy. On top of my safe is a tin of shortbread fingers,. Safety goggles, a belt, a T-shirt,. And a like-new copy of The Seth Material. She’d say, Oh, do you like hummingbirds? And he’d say, You’re in my bedroom looking at my feeder, and you ask me if I like hummingbirds. Or she’d say, early in the morning, Is it hot out? Cheap labor for business. Leave No Child Behind.

We are responsible for the world in which we find ourselves, if only because we are the only sentient force that can change it. Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one getting burned. An event has happened, upon which it is difficult to speak and impossible to remain silent. We are tasting...

Be a Little Better than What you Speak. Bhutan celebrated “World No Tobacco Day” yesterday at the clock tower. The program was attended by the officials and blue-dressed students (from some primary schools I guess). Amid a lot of singing programs and educative jokes shared by the presenters, who persuaded people to refrain from the sale and consumption of Tobacco, I recalled an incidence of shame and embarrassment. Does someone, who is clear about the law and breaking it knowingly, look handsome? Yesterd...

Seeing Padre Pio in 1967. A Visit to San Giovanni Rotondo. In 1966, when I was 19 years old, one of my aunts came to visit my family with the intention of making a pilgrimage to San Giovanni Rotondo to attend a Mass officiated by Padre Pio. At the time I lived in Bari, Italy. I shared a large bedroom with my two younger sisters, and this particular night our aunt was also sleeping with us. Suddenly I was awakened from my slumber by a sweet scent of jasmine flowers. I knew there were no flowers in the hou...

Chico Theater Review: Guys and Dolls (Sept. 11 to Oct. 10)
http://chicotheaterreview.blogspot.com/2009/10/guys-and-dolls.html
Guys and Dolls (Sept. 11 to Oct. 10). Guys and Dolls is a story of the many gambles in New York City during the 1940s. Overall, the show was very well thought out and detailed; from the sets to the costumes to the scene changes. I couldn’t see how director Bob Maness could have done better. The music was also well done, the different harmonies throughout the show was spot on. There were very few missed notes, but the actors stayed true to character even in song. Theater: Chico Theater Company. Dec 4 - 19...
