Life, training and racing sprinkled with some product reviews. Monday, March 14, 2011. Swim help is on the way. How did it work out for you? On the training front, things are moving along. The new bike (Kestrel 4000) is AWESOME! Rides fast and smooth. I plan on doing a review on it later in the spring, once I have a few more rides under my belt. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). MAd ScIEntIsT gONe tRIaThLEtE. San Antonio Rides and Runs. Saturday, November 9, 2013. Of course – we were in the middle of a drought in TX and I pick the one weekend it’s supposed to rain! It was Crazy HOT two years ago and Crazy COLD last year. Thank you Coach Karen. For making me go out rain, or shine! Luckily it didn’t rain on the drive up to Austin. I stayed with my first homestay EVER! Mike works for Livestrong. And Tori works in scientific publishing so we all had lots to chat about! 8211; purely ...

MAd ScIEntIsT gONe tRIaThLEtE. San Antonio Rides and Runs. Sunday, November 25, 2012. Coming out of pseudo-retirement after 1 .5 Years? It’s been a year and a half since I raced my last tri and I can tell! My last race was cold – so cold I was shivering uncontrollably on the bike. So of course, I sign up for my 1. Race back (Rev3 SC) and it’s cold. Good thing I learned my lesson about layering clothing. Unfortunately, I was very rusty on my transitions. The cool weather was perfect for running! A week la...

MAd ScIEntIsT gONe tRIaThLEtE. San Antonio Rides and Runs. Monday, January 5, 2015. Nathan's Dual Use Technologies. Ever looked at a piece of equipment and think it looked like it was meant for some other purpose? Well, now that I am temporarily out of commission due to my back, I got a little creative with some of my tri gear… I was influenced by my little 8 and 10 year old buddies, Morgan and Cameron and their experiences with the Nathan AP Pro and a few other items. Apparently, the Nathan AP Pro.

Charlotte's Journey: October 2008
http://charlottepaul.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 20, 2008. Chatting on stage at the Expo about my new Kestrel Airfoil SE. The age group swim start- Kristian is the swimmer right at the bottom of the photo looking straight at the camera- lucky coincidence! With good friend Toby Jones of Art of Tri. Yes Kristian is smaller than me in this photo- he says its because he was so deflated! Sunday, October 19, 2008. The Big Island- off the bike:). A few days R &R is all we seem to need- then we start to get itchy feet! Thursday, October 16, 2008.

Charlotte's Journey: September 2008
http://charlottepaul.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 24, 2008. Aloha from the Big Island. This year we are here nice and early to have plenty of time to settle in and acclimatise to the Hawaii heat. I'm very glad because the sessions we have done so far have been noticeably harder, and knocked us around more than usual. On Sunday we rode the course. The winds weren't all that bad. I didn't have to cling on for dear life- or do the one armed aero position! Here are some photos from around the place. The drive out of the airport. I am di...

MAd ScIEntIsT gONe tRIaThLEtE. San Antonio Rides and Runs. Sunday, June 30, 2013. How much can I cram into…. What a busy month! Since my last post I’ve managed to set a 70.3 personal best at NOLA 70.3; win a 5k on a very cold, rainy, and windy day (prize was a 3 day/2 night stay at a beach resort); successfully defend my dissertation; slog through a very HOT 70.3 after spending 2 full days at Universal Studios; AND pack up our house for our move to San Antonio! A short bike proved it to be VERY windy!

MAd ScIEntIsT gONe tRIaThLEtE. San Antonio Rides and Runs. Tuesday, May 6, 2014. The Big Easy wasn’t so easy! My first 70.3 of the season – NOLA 70.3. A good time for lessons-learned – in other words, best time to mess up a lot and still have time to redeem yourself throughout the rest of the season! As my Coach Karen (. Http:/ www.coach-karen.com/. Would say – it’s good to work out the kinks! Well, I had lots of them! He had a great race! Better keep going because I managed to hold onto 3. I wish it cou...
