~Nature's Silence~TreeHuggingFaggot~
http://treehuggingfaggot.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 10, 2008. The quarterly IT fairs in Singapore have come again. Its time again for Singaporeans to splurge their hard earned money in exchange for prized electronic possessions. Yet, while we go through this short but sweet spending frenzy, it would be wise to stop a while and think about our environmental impact during these IT fairs. Here are some things I think would be interesting to note. The IT fairs have tonnes of them. Do we really need them? Everyone loves printers at IT fairs. ...

~Nature's Silence~TreeHuggingFaggot~
http://treehuggingfaggot.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 21, 2007. I found this little article on a site called GreenFeet. They compared the use of a plastic bag to a paper bag. Interesting are the results of their findings, both the paper and plastic bag are almost equally environmentally unfriendly. Never mind the fact that they're selling reusable bags and thus may have the article biased towards reusable bags, its still some pretty good points they've brought up. Read on. What decision did you make? Was it an informed choice? Machinery requ...

How wonderful to see this thriving shore after having seen the one on the East Coast! Here's some of the stuff I thought was special. This morning was the first time I saw a living murex snail! This is probably the Rare spined murex ( Murex trapa. Which is listed among Singapore's threatened animals. Further along, I saw another living murex which had something clutched its narrow foot.

Translation from the colourful clouds blog. Man-made seawater lake/lagoon may be constructed in waters around the southern islands? If such is a case, tourists will be able to enjoy various water sports activities surrounded in bl...

wildfilms: Mone not enough
http://wildfilms.blogspot.com/2007/07/mone-not-enough.html
Shoot first, ask questions later! Jul 16, 2007. Apologies, it's hard to think of a less corny blog title after four back-to-back predawn trips and having to suddenly look after twice as many cats who don't much like one another. Anyway, early this morning, we were out to scout more of Changi for sea anemones, in preparation for the visit by world anemone expert Daphne Fauntin. Alas, there were very few anemones where we went. I saw only two small swimming anemones, and one small tiger anemone. The above ...

Home Shell of the Naked Hermit Crabs: Ecosystem - Mangroves
http://nhcguides.blogspot.com/2007/09/mangroves-of-chek-jawa.html
Home Shell of the Naked Hermit Crabs. Secret factsheets and other crusty hidden hermit bits. Wednesday, September 5, 2007. Read them from here. Great and important facts! Seagrasses need the mangroves. Mangroves can slow down the speed of water from inland, therefore causing fine silt to settle around the mangrove forests. But if these fine silt reach the waters, they will cloud the water, block the sunlight and the seagrasses will not be able to make food (photosynthesize) and flourish. Shell for Naked ...
