You are two minutes from the Ferry Terminal and shops, restaurants and pubs, and of course the best ‘fish n chip’ shop in NZ, is almost next door. Bluff has many things to do including fishing charters, loads of walking and biking trails, bird watching and you can fish of the wharf, some times catching a fine salmon.

The porch which overlooks the bay and the harbour is enclosed with an awning fronting which can be opened up on a sunny day but creates a wonderful warm place to have lunch or breakfast or to just sit and watch the endless change of the scene before you. There is a laundry with a dryer, free to air tv, a fully equiped kitchen with a dishwasher and a stereo. If you have your own laptop computer we are able to provide internet facilities.

Mac and Sue who manage the Lighthouse Gallery came to visit Bluff one day and never left. They lived in The Lighthouse Bungalow to begin with and then one day when traveling into town they saw a for sale sign going up on what is now The Lighthouse Gallery. People are welcome to come and visit the gallery and to stay a while drinking the best coffee in town and just getting warm while listening to Mac’s stories. Both local and from his days of traveling previous life times.

Monday, June 3, 2013. I have just completed my first season as the sole owner of Bluff Lodge. Wow the time just flew. I had some fantastic helpers and found a great manager in Kay for when I need to get away during the season. There are some highly energetic, conscientious, talented people out there. As a team we have the Lodge looking good and functioning well. The push next season will be on interior painting. I met lots of great guests as usual which is one of the things I really enjoy in this job.
