Sure, I was compared with my cousins every now and then, but what I lacked, my folks just blamed on their own parenting skills. But I digress. What pisses me off the most is that Dad still acts clueless about the divorce: "If I'd known how unhappy she was, I would have changed! His theory is, if he doesn't face it, it's not really happening. Grrrr. Because I'm an only child!

Hence, a Christmas-themed birthday party, decorated tree and all. No presents, though; we all bring canned goods for the food bank instead.
