Something Different: Photos of Japan
http://paulpsomethingdifferent.blogspot.com/2010/07/photos-of-japan.html
Thursday, July 29, 2010. Here are a few pictures with short explanations as a way of letting you into my time in Japan. PS They are in no particular order. Here we are singing some sort of Japanese song with the kids that meant that had to run in circles. Here is me, enjoying the Ocean on my one day of touring in Japan. This is the first thing you see when you walk up to the guest house we were staying it. Its a beautiful Japanese style Garden. This is a buddhist temple near the Church we were staying at.

Something Different: Busy Once Again
http://paulpsomethingdifferent.blogspot.com/2010/07/busy-once-again.html
Sunday, July 4, 2010. Throwing Benjamin, JB's Youngest around the first day after the team arrived. Pastor Kapay and his family, last Sunday for dinner. To his kids, I am Uncle Paul. (One of them wants to be white when she's older.). Out with a few friends to watch the soccer game in the evening. The "Bat Lights" for the Independence celebration. There were fireworks the night of the 29th as well. Actually, he was extraordinary. I woke up that morning, hungry! Now they are here and it has been a blessing...

Something Different: July 2010
http://paulpsomethingdifferent.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 30, 2010. On the road again. If you could pray for safety in travels, Unity as a team, and Joy as we serve the Lord with the Lithuanian Church that would be great! I'll try to update you on the happenings when I get back Sunday evening. 48 hours and more. This is the ceiling of the Shanghai airport. It turned out to be fine, the hostel was nice, it was just in a dodgy area). At 4 am the next day I woke up and packed up in preparation for my last leg on the way to Lithuania. By 5 am I was...

Something Different: Better or Worse?? Neither...
http://paulpsomethingdifferent.blogspot.com/2010/07/better-or-worse-neither.html
Friday, July 23, 2010. According to the 2009 Human Development Report, Japan lies as the 10th most "developed" country in the world and the Democratic Republic of Congo lies at 176th (or 7th least "developed"). Talk about drastic changes. I went from: a place where. Water is a luxury. To a place where. I can get water anywhere. Old rickety vehicles packed. Full, to a place where owning a car. Older than 10 years is frowned upon. Not having a fan. In my room, to having. Are a little different. Then you ar...

Something Different: A glimpse of our God!
http://paulpsomethingdifferent.blogspot.com/2010/07/glimpse-of-our-god.html
Monday, July 12, 2010. A glimpse of our God! In just one week we've managed to: eat in homes, sing with choirs, ride on motorcycles, shed some tears, play games with orphans, visit clinics, stay healthy, make new friends, travel along the Congo river and much much more. But in all of it, God was there! Yes, our schedule is packed. But as I sit here on our "morning off", I am reminded that GOD IS HERE! Praise that our meeting with the leaders of the conference here in Kinshasa went amazing! Pray for joy&#...

Something Different: Kenya and Beyond
http://paulpsomethingdifferent.blogspot.com/2010/07/kenya-and-beyond.html
Friday, July 16, 2010. I will be leaving the beautiful country of Kenya in just a few hours. Its a sad time because I am not only leaving the team, but I am leaving Carianne. It's going to be really hard. I know this is short, but until today we haven't had internet access anywhere. I will be writing stories/highlights over the next 48 hours of traveling, and posting them as I get the chance. Sorry again for the inconvenience. Here are a few quick prayer requests. Safety as I travel. BMC Congo Team 2010.

Ben doing a little dance for us before his graduation. Jojo (Johannie) Jean Baptiste's 2 year old Daughter. The kids at Bomoi Ya Sika created this great game of soccer! These m...

Something Different: Japan
http://paulpsomethingdifferent.blogspot.com/2010/07/japan.html
Monday, July 26, 2010. Anyway, Nozomi took us to the largest "Shinto" Shrine in Nagoya. It is estimated that there are 9 million people visitting this Shrine alone on an annual basis. These are a few of the Shinto beliefs:. 1 According to Shinto, humans are the offspring of the kami (Kami are the "deities"); as a result, kami and humans are related by blood. Not only humans, but the native land and Nature are also considered the broducts of kami. I felt the same as we sat at a little concession stand tha...
