Dusty Roads: New Adventures in the Rockies
http://dustyroadsblog.blogspot.com/2012/04/new-adventures-in-rockies.html
Friday, April 06, 2012. New Adventures in the Rockies. Flew to Calgary Alberta and had a two week visit with my buddy Dave. He picked me up at the airport and we drove to his home in Canmore. Approximately, one and a quarter hour drive from the Calgary airport; Canmore is a beautiful town and can be described as the Gateway into Banff National Park. Didn’t know it at the time, but a week later a Helicopter from a competitor went down and the pilot was killed. 4 passengers survived. South of Revelstoke we...

Dusty Roads: December 2010
http://dustyroadsblog.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 28, 2010. Christmas travel on rough and dusty roads. One fact, that never changes throughout life are the various dusty roads, we must endure. Christmas can be the happiest or the saddest time of year. This year without my wife it was one of those rough roads. This year my girls had an extra special Christmas for me. Tania out did herself with a beautiful meal. It was a wonderful Christmas except for the one empty chair. I am so fortunate, to have the girls and their families in my life.

Dusty Roads: October 2013
http://dustyroadsblog.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 21, 2013. Through life we sometimes travel not only a dusty road but one full of bumps and pot holes. Losing a loved one is about as rough as it can get. I experienced the roughest ride of my life with the death of my wife, my lover, and my best friend. Carole’s life 1942 - 2010. If you met Carole and asked her how she was doing. She always said, I’m fine, she never complained. Life with Carole spanned from, Aug 1959. It are those years in between that are so important. Carole and I met w...

Dusty Roads: Gone Fishing
http://dustyroadsblog.blogspot.com/2011/09/gone-fishing.html
Tuesday, September 27, 2011. It has been quite a while since I last blogged. Friends are writing asking how was fishing and it is sometimes easier to just tell the story once. My Son-in-law Wayne asked me to go north with him, rent a cottage to do some fishing. We went to a favourite Camp Horizon located north of Sturgeon Falls in a tiny outback called Field. High north country approximately 6 hour drive; a get-away….for a couple of good friends. Shown up by a couple of city girls. 2 bedroom one bath.

Dusty Roads: One of life's treats as I travel the Dusty Road.
http://dustyroadsblog.blogspot.com/2012/02/one-of-lifes-treats-as-i-travel-dusty.html
Tuesday, February 28, 2012. One of life's treats as I travel the Dusty Road. Part of the reason I do this blog is; so I can look back upon where I have been, and my travels, and adventures down the Dusty Road of life. Times like this when I appreciate Grandchildren. A new teenager has step her foot onto the pathway and I couldn't be prouder. My sweet little Abby turned 13 today. Baby Abby at the Beach. Always a Grandpa's girl. All grown up now. Happy 13th Birthday Abby. All that and shes gorgeous, too!

Dusty Roads: January 2011
http://dustyroadsblog.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 05, 2011. Dusty Roads something to think about. I received an email from a friend and it started me thinking. How much have I missed in life? By the way, author of this piece is unknown. In Washington , DC , at a Metro Station, on a cold January morning in 2007, this man with a violin played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time, approximately 2,000 people went through the station, most of them on their way to work. After about 3 minutes:. About 4 minutes later:. The m...

Livin' la Vida Floja: Gastos!
http://islazina.blogspot.com/2012/08/gastos.html
Livin' la Vida Floja. A lazy life near Cancun. August 17, 2012. Expenditures, gastos. I am setting what feels like a record, which it is not. But coming back after a month in the US, during which I shopped for things for the apartments and for my modest wardrobe, it stings! Sothat written, I'm off to the ATM near City Hall and the license office for her tag. Less than $4US, thank God for small favors! BREATH DEEP NOW AGAIN- FEEL BETTER? LOOSE THE SOUR PUSS ATTITUDE JUST SAYING! August 17, 2012 at 3:04 PM.

Livin' la Vida Floja: Rotting little kids
http://islazina.blogspot.com/2012/08/rotting-little-kids.html
Livin' la Vida Floja. A lazy life near Cancun. August 1, 2012. As long as I have started a tangent, I'll add the behavior of kids and their parents. I am in a remote outpost of the world, but I read. I would never feed a toddler candy and be cautious with older kids. On my way to Ohio, a woman was feeding her two toddlers Skittles and while visibly pregnant, wolfing then down herself. Wow, youre a real cheery spokesperson for Life In Mexico. Cant wait to find another place to go. August 3, 2012 at 2:21 PM.

Livin' la Vida Floja: November 2011
http://islazina.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Livin' la Vida Floja. A lazy life near Cancun. November 7, 2011. The order of things. This photo was the last one of the day that I sent to my brother yesterday. The kitchen remodeling project was in full swing in Mexico, here on Isla Mujeres. He wryly observed, "I would call these photos concrete examples of progress." The kitchen remodeling is a job of concrete. Before the counter and its hole for the sink were framed and poured yesterday, there was nothing, except the vestiges of the old sink. Subscri...
