The Windsurf Loop: August 2014
http://boardsurfr.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, August 23, 2014. But rail rides are hard work. Mowing the lawn when the wind picked up today in Duxbury Bay was a lot easier. Enough said - here is a short video from our recent sessions at Egg Island:. Sunday, August 17, 2014. Yes, I did manage to get here to take the GoPro for one of the 5 days. Much cooler footage than when I use it! Sunday, August 3, 2014. Do you guys have lanes on the water? You all seem to be going the same way back and forth all the time! On the newer shortboard, I had e...
The Windsurf Loop: March 2015
http://boardsurfr.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 31, 2015. We got to enjoy a session where the wind went from "no way you can plane" to "I can barely hold on anymore", and then back down, all in 90 minutes. But it was nice to get out. There was absolutely no wind in the forecast for today. But while making plans for sailing tomorrow morning, we noticed that the wind readings were near 20! Wind and sun - if you know us, you also know we were at the beach 30 minutes later. Lots of whitecaps! Speedsurfers on our team get back onto the water.
The Windsurf Loop: September 2014
http://boardsurfr.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 23, 2014. When Caesar Finies visited us here on Cape Cod a couple of weeks ago, he filmed a few minutes of Flowstyle from the same view point that I used in my recent video. The nose of the board. We even did some of the same tricks - but that's where the similarities end. His raw. Here's a list of the moves:. Sail-Body 360 (from leeside sailing). Sail flip and sail duck (Reverse Sail 360). In summary, here are some of the basic "Flowstyle 101" rules:. Keep the direction of flow! Don't...
The Windsurf Loop: October 2014
http://boardsurfr.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 5, 2014. Andy and Caesar movie. At the ABK camp Cape Cod in September, Andy Brandt and Caesar Finies gave us a little demonstration what light wind freestyle can look like. Conditions were not ideal, with gusty winds from 5-20 mph; furthermore, both Andy and Caesar were on unfamiliar boards. That did not keep them from putting on a great show - here is a short video:. Many thanks to Caesar and Andy for showing us what you can do on a windsurf board in light winds. Thursday, October 2, 2014.

A Year (Windsurfing) en Provence. I'm a Canadian Guy who started this windsurfing blog during our sabbatical year in France. We are home now, and I'm continuing this blog with our random windsurfing adventures. Saturday, July 11, 2015. Kids day at the flat spot. I had a great day windsurfing with two of my kids. Katie out enjoying the steady wind and flat water. I sailed the 7.0 NP V6 and pumped myself onto a plane several times. I luckily managed to record that 2nd session as well on my new GP 102 GPS&#...

Or perhaps you are thinking of going, but also need a room, so you could join up with Jeff and maybe others to rent a house? Saturday, September 18, 2010. Doing crash #...

A Year (Windsurfing) en Provence. I'm a Canadian Guy who started this windsurfing blog during our sabbatical year in France. We are home now, and I'm continuing this blog with our random windsurfing adventures. Thursday, July 31, 2014. Any tips for sailing upwind with a 9.0 on a slalom board? Here's a photo of the launch vehicle. My mother's classic cedar strip boat was my launch vehicle today. And my GPS track. 48 km/h top speed = 26 knots in 16 knots of wind. Some increasing speeds as my day progressed.
20 knots: Back at Doug's
http://twentyknots.blogspot.com/2015/05/back-at-doug.html
Sunday, May 17, 2015. Need to work on starboard jumps, back and forward loops. Those are the goals for the season! Doug's notes: 4.2 worked well with 20 mph average. It was gusty so I went with a bigger 86 L board, but 72 would have been smoother. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Seattle, WA, United States. View my complete profile. Withrow's on the Blog: Sandy Point Speed Slick
http://withrowsontheblog.blogspot.com/2013/11/sandy-point-speed-slick.html
Withrow's on the Blog. Saturday, November 02, 2013. Sandy Point Speed Slick. Look what we found in Little Narragansett Bay, RI. This is a legitimate speed strip out in a bay shared by Connecticut and Rhode Island. I've been "eyeballing" this site for years now and finally got the opportunity to sail it on Friday. 37 knots on my first run! That's about 43 mph). I'm thinking this could be the day. Today 40 knots is going down. Unfortunately the only thing going down that day was the wind, as it dropped.

Monday, March 12, 2018. The Difference Between Good and Bad. No, this is not a philosophy post. It's about GPS reception. Surprised? When I looked at GPS test results from yesterday and today, one thing puzzled me. Look at the data and take a guess:. Why was the phone GPS so inaccurate on 3/11, with large errors in every GPSTC discipline, but quite accurate on 3/12? I'll give you some clues, so you can see how early you can guess the answer. To a run where both devices gave almost the same speed:. The ph...
