Berta and Steve's Adventures: November 2009
http://mvindemnity.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 25, 2009. Boat Harbour here we come VIDEO! Lets see, where did I leave off? We made our way to Great Guana Cay and anchored in Fishers Bay for the evening. We lowered the dinghy (again) and made our way to the dinghy dock at Grabbers bar and grill. We hoofed it down the road and turned up the hill on dirt path to the world famous Nippers Beach Bar and Grill. Just walking up that hill puts a smile on my face. Today she came over to see us and decided that she wanted to bring Oasis to d...

Berta and Steve's Adventures: What a long week!
http://mvindemnity.blogspot.com/2011/01/what-long-week.html
Wednesday, January 5, 2011. What a long week! We left Whiticar marine after all the work they could do for us for now could be done. As most boatyards go, that one is the best we have ever been to. Spotless yard and very friendly staff. If you have a boat and are in southeast Florida and need work done, I highly recommend them. We got across the gulfstream only to find the seas on the other side of it were worse! We finally made it to the Bahama bank ourselves, but not before getting into some really big...

Berta and Steve's Adventures: A new start
http://mvindemnity.blogspot.com/2011/12/new-start.html
Sunday, December 4, 2011. When I last left off, our son Joe and his girlfriend Caitlyn came for a visit. Needless to say we had a good time. Somehow Steve and I were inducted into the RMHYC as co-chairs of socials. That means we more or less have to give direction to committees for the various parties we have every month. How we got nominated for the job is a mystery. We had made arrangements with our insurer to keep the boat in Stuart rather than have to make the trek all the way up to Charleston. 1...

Berta and Steve's Adventures: June 2009
http://mvindemnity.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 27, 2009. Don't judge a book by it's cover. Just because the boat is put away for the summer (that idea still sounds weird to me) doesn't mean we have crawled into some hole and hibernated! Michigan currently has the worst unemployment rate in the nation and the prospects for that changing anytime soon are dim. Detroit has been hit hard, but despite it's problems, there are some real treasures in Detroit and around the state if you look for them! Click on photos to enlarge if you wish.

Berta and Steve's Adventures: September 2010
http://mvindemnity.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 24, 2010. Time Flies when you're not having fun. Since I haven't posted in over six months, I guess I should start again as a new cruising season will soon be upon us. But first a quick update since I last left you all. It is an odd sensation coming back into the land of plenty after having been gone so long. Marsh Harbour is the third largest city in the Bahamas so it is not like we were living in the middle of nowhere. They do have a KFC there! While Steve did the majority of hard lab...

Berta and Steve's Adventures: February 2010
http://mvindemnity.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 15, 2010. A whole lotta nothing going on. I know it has been forever since I have posted. Then again, there wasn't/isn't that much to post! We've had a few "Hoolies" blow thru. Hoolies are storms that are more or less severe, but blow thru so quickly, you don't have time to prepare for them. We have just learned to have extra docklines securing the boat at all times. Sandy and Jeff on Oasis had Steve and me over for a birthday meal prepareed by Sandy. (there are two Sandra's on the d...

Berta and Steve's Adventures: December 2010
http://mvindemnity.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 28, 2010. Middle of the holidays. We finally got over our colds, sinus infections and bronchits problems. We diagnosed the clicking noise and had that repaired. Turns out (in the simplest terms) that both the engines needed an idle adjustment. The engine that also powers the stabillizers needed to be tweaked a bit higher to make up the difference. This is the last time I will be able to update the page for awhile. We are finally leaving the boatyard tomorrow! I also want to take this ti...

Berta and Steve's Adventures: It's been one week and.........
http://mvindemnity.blogspot.com/2011/01/its-been-one-week-and.html
Monday, January 24, 2011. It's been one week and. It has been one week since I last posted and.nothing much has happened. We have been very quiet and relaxed. When I said we cook, Steve has gotten very good about cooking the fish. I am not going to complain! One bright spot was that Joe and his girlfriend Caitlyn have secured their plans to come visit us at the end of February. It will be fun to have them here and I hope the weather will cooperate. There is joy again in Mudville! Most of you know me, so ...

Berta and Steve's Adventures: Home is where the heart is
http://mvindemnity.blogspot.com/2011/01/home-is-where-heart-is.html
Monday, January 17, 2011. Home is where the heart is. Haven't written in awhile because I have been busy. I am, or let me now say I WAS co-chair with Terry on the RMHYC Chili Cookoff. Normally we would have a month to deal with getting everything ready for the event. Steve and I were stuck in Stuart till who knew when, so I gave all the stuff toTerry to bring over just in case. She said we would talk later. I bid her and everyone else a good night and as soon as I got to the boat went to bed. I s...Every...
