Last night we watched the Giants win the World Series - we loved the game and all of the last six or seven games played by the Giants. The players were wonderful - fabulous fielding pitching and hitting. Also, how about the Sacramento Kings? 3-1 opening record, for the first time in 7 years. We may have a winning team this year. We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel, which makes things nice, because they let you enter the park 30 minutes early, and you can take the monorail from just outside the hotel right into Tomorrowland. At the end of class, the kids marched in a parade, and got to sign some songs for senior citizens and the kids parents at the Community Center (co-located at her pre-school). It was a fun Halloween. Thursday, August 11, 2011. One of the greatest things about living in Palo Alto is the Stanford Theater. Seriously, it is awesome. It's like taking a magical ride in a time machine. Behold the awesomeness. We went for a Hitchcock Festival (North by Northwest and Strangers on a Train). It was really fun. The theater is beautifully restored. Monday, December 6, 2010. My favorite holiday drink is Wassail. It's a traditional English hot cider. I like to think the recipe has been handed down through the generations from my ancestors who immigrated from England but really I have no idea. Here is the recipe. It's delicious. 1 tsp whole cloves. 1 tsp whole all spice. 4 qts apple juice. 1 can frozen orange juice. 1/3 c lemon juice. 1/3 c brown sugar. I usually half the juices and sugar because we don't have a pot big enough and it turns out great.

We had decided to find a resting place or haven to pause and relax before continuing on to Kelowna to attend my nephew Jason's wedding.
