Children's and YA Author. I managed to hook a wonderful man, Todd Blackley, and marry into three great kids! Like their dad, they're all kind, passionate, unique people. We adopted Boo in 2002 right before Halloween. She was a feral street dog. When the vet first saw her he said, Where'd you get the coy-dog? We quickly found out a herding dog with a dash of coyote in her is very smart and very energetic! He's known all over Park City for the book reviews he writes for the Summit County Friends of Animals.

Children's and YA Author. My Growing Up Years. When I was a child my family and I lived in a house by the sea. I was a shy, quiet child who worried about many things. When I was about five, I woke up my parents in the wee hours of the morning with this question: When I die, will everything else die too? My parents very patiently told me that, no, everything was fine. I had very patient parents! The Utterly Impossible Horse. By Anita Feagles. I still have a copy of that book! Books, the Black Stallion.

Ramblings about children's books (and sometimes some other stuff) from author Barbara O'Connor. Friday, March 27, 2015. A Way with Words. I adored my editor Frances Foster. For many reasons. Her humor, her smarts, her genteel manner. She also had a lovely way with words.always eloquent, tactful, and respectful. In my ongoing quest to purge my office of STUFF, I came across some correspondence that showcased her way with words perfectly. Back in 2000 (FIFTEEN YEARS AGO! How can that be? It reads, in part:.

Ramblings about children's books (and sometimes some other stuff) from author Barbara O'Connor. Tuesday, April 14, 2015. Thank you, Canada! I recently spent three days visiting schools in Fredericton, New Brunswick. To get there, I had to fly on an itty bitty little plane like this, that kind of freaked me out. But I survived. Phew! My first stop was Gibson-Neill Memorial Elementary, where they know that it's the little things that count. A reserved parking spot! Such great pictures of dogs! L to r) The ...

What is ML Reading? The Kid Tested, Librarian Approved Blog. Julia’s Review: Lucky Strike. Another review by seventh-grade expert, Julia. Lucky Strike. Touching, charming, comfortable (the town felt comfortable, not like the book itself was soft and cozy). Chum because he was nice to everybody. I sort of pitied him because he was just looking for a friend, but no one wanted to be his friend until Nate and Gen came along. When Ruth and Rebecca found the turtle nest. This post, because most bots are boring, but bots that argue with you about grammar are disturbingly sexy.]. Do editors really hate adverbs? Pretty much, yeah. Writer, book lover, dog mother. Friday, February 15, 2013. Random Notes: Planner or Panster? There are two camps of writers out there: planners and pansters. Planners are the ones who outline their whole entire plot before they even write a word. And very often, they've written up lots of notes on their characters and even interviewed them to find out all about them! By the time they sit down to write, they know every thing. I'm a panster. On of the things I love. Dont' think. Thinking is the enemy o...
