A Royal Tradition: February 2015
http://aroyaltradition.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 23, 2015. Ice Days are Bittersweet. I cheered just as loudly as my girls when we got the word last night that school was cancelled today due to the ice. I had been secretly hoping it would be when I went to the store earlier in the day and bought stuff for my daughters to bake- just in case. I don't want to suck the joy out of an unexpected holiday, but my heart is heavy every time I think of them at home without enough food. Would you join me in praying for them? Links to this post.

A Royal Tradition: Unnoticed and Forgotten
http://aroyaltradition.blogspot.com/2015/02/do-you-ever-feel-unnoticed-like-what.html
Friday, February 6, 2015. Do you ever feel unnoticed? Like what you do, doesn't matter. That you are invisible unless someone (usually a child in your house) needs something right away? I call it the George Bailey/Its a Wonderful Life syndrome and I find myself suffering from it more than I like to admit. I'm gonna be really honest in this post- not that I'm not usually "real," but there are things I say in a joking manner that are truly things that I struggle with.things that hit me in my core. I don't ...

A Royal Tradition: April 2014

Monday, April 7, 2014. It's Just their Nature. Take a look at this sweet video:. Brian decided the ducklings needed to learn to swim this morning and then this evening, the girls were sad they missed out, so they had a 2nd swim. I smile every time I watch these videos! As I was watching them take their first dip in their pond (i.e. my bathtub) this morning, I noticed a couple of things:. Once they realized they could do it, they were diving and swimming all over the tub! They were so excited! I wish I co...

A Royal Tradition: October 2014

Friday, October 3, 2014. We have been blessed to have some amazing coaches in our daughters' lives. People that spoken into my girls in a way that I couldn’t. I’ve also heard the horror stories of coaches who have damaged kids by their words and actions. Here’s what I want to say to coaches everywhere:. Thank you for the time you put into our daughter. 8230;for believing in her and helping her to see what she is capable of. 8230;for pushing her through her fear. 8230;for building her up with your words.

A Royal Tradition: January 2015
http://aroyaltradition.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 20, 2015. When you say Nothing at all. Life is busy. Most of us have too much on our plate and we find ourselves doing the bare minimum to get by. And we miss out. We make lots of excuses as to why we are busy and why we can't stop doing anything right now, but will in the future. Some of those excuses are valid. What holds us back? I've been more inconsistent than ever with my blog. Partly because I don't want to share everything that's going on in my head. Partly because I thin...Maybe...

A Royal Tradition: June 2014

Monday, June 9, 2014. Remember Who the REAL Enemy Is. Remember who the real enemy is. A friend of mine reminded me the other day of that line in "Catching Fire" and it has popped up unexpectedly in my mind several times since then. Here's a quick view of it in case you've been under a rock the past few years and haven't seen it yet: http:/ youtu.be/rwxcNayRTI0. Put on the full armor of God,so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. Praying for you (and me) as we put on our gold bracelet...

A Royal Tradition: September 2014

Monday, September 22, 2014. Lovepacs-Aubrey…Are you crazy? Yep, that’s what I’ve been saying to myself the last few months. And I thought I had talked myself out of jumping into anything new. I have enough on my plate. My daughters play too many sports right now. My husband works too many hours. My job is all over the place. And I need time to play with chickens and collect their eggs…. But, when you have opportunities put smack-dab in front of your face, you have 3 choices:. He’s a God of faith. We have...

A Royal Tradition: May 2014
http://aroyaltradition.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 29, 2014. It's funny what we spend our days on. The things we think are so important in the moment. The ways we get consumed with doing. God has been showing me a lot this past few weeks about what is truly important to Him. And the conclusion I am facing, is that all my doing just spins me further from Him- even when it's things I think are FOR Him. The doing that requires it to be about me. And my desires. The doing that keeps me too busy to sit and seek His voice. And through it all, He ...

Monday, April 20, 2015. What I learned from Pulling Weeds. I am not a gardener. As much as I love fresh veggies and pretty flowers, I have the blackest thumb around. Seriously, I've killed ivy and all the other non-killable plants. Needless to say, I'm not usually allowed to plant anything. Since I don't plant, I don't usually take care of the plants either. I really think they smell me and die so I stay far away. Lots of ibuprofen and sore back and shoulders later, here is what I learned:. Some weeds ta...
