Thankfully, as the sun was just getting ready to peek over the mountains, I woke up again and got up in time to watch the sunrise- truly one of the most spectacular things I have ever seen. The peace and beauty of the desert left me feeling rejuvenated. For such a thing. Daughter of the Nile. The picture above is the kabash. A tomato and lentil soup. Te quiero, España. My year as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Alicante, Spain. Monday, July 2, 2012. This morning dawned bright and early. To be honest, too bright and early for me! I find it difficult enough to get up at 8 AM each morning for school- so 7 AM was a bit of a struggle. However, it was well worth it! A lovely breakfast was made fresh for us by one of the guys that works at the riad. Here is a Berber village. Approximately 40% of Moroccans are Berber- though more probably have ...

Te quiero, España: October 2011

Te quiero, España. My year as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Alicante, Spain. Monday, October 31, 2011. The teacher asked me to show the kids who were done what word matched with what picture so that they could play with them. Te quiero, España: June 2012

http://www.bobbivalencia2011.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html

Te quiero, España. My year as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Alicante, Spain. Sunday, June 24, 2012. Bucket List: visit Morocco. Check! As I've traveled throughout Spain, I've seen many examples of Islamic-influenced architecture and art in cities like Granada, Sevilla, Zaragoza, Córdoba, and I've found it all fascinatingly beautiful. I've been interested in traveling to northern Africa in order to see how the original compares to how this style has manifested in Spain. As we enjoyed our tea, ...

Te quiero, España: November 2011

http://www.bobbivalencia2011.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html

Te quiero, España. My year as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Alicante, Spain. Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Out of the mouths of babes. Sometimes, I'm absolutely astounded by the things that my students say. They can be insightful, crazy, insulting, and super sweet. Today, I couldn't help but laugh. One of the students mispronounced the word "feast," and so the teacher said, "What do we know about English? I had to contain my laughter. You get situations like:. The farm was used to. Later that...
