As soon as we got there we ran into rain for a day that delayed us at Lathrop State Park, but it was scattered showers most days after we got to Buffalo Pass. Bill Miller, Cindy's father, passed on April 10th, 2006, after a long battle with prostate cancer. I just wanted to post some comments on a man I personally respected and who had the respect and admiration of a great many individuals. Not only is Cowboy Poetry Gathering a common once a year event in Alpine, it also happens in many other areas of the country. On the way to Alpine, we spent the night at South Llano River State Park, outside of Junction, TX. Bob and Cindy's 2010 Travel Web Site. Green Lakes and Teton Canyon Areas. Just above this camping spot was Green Lake . right in the heart of the Wind River Range. The river coming out of that lake is the Green River which flows south through Wyoming and Utah to meet up with the Colorado River. Trout were grabbing insects, we saw antelope and pronghorn sheep on the hillside but no bear or moose. On the trail around Green Lake . the signature landmark is named Squaretop Mountain.
