The Gypsy | Bob Findlay Poetry

https://bobfindlayblog.wordpress.com/2016/11/28/the-gypsy

About My Poetry Blog. Posted by Bob Findlay. Asymp; Leave a comment. The gypsy traveled the English countryside. On his horse and cart. He would stop in villages and fairs. Telling peoples fortune with his crystal ball. One day an attractive lady walked into his tent. He knew her name. This had never happened to him before. 8220;Take a seat, Margaret,” he said. The lady was gobsmacked. 8220;How did you know my name? 8221; she asked. The gypsy was honest. 8220;I don’t know,” he said. That’s why I kn...

Short Notice | Bob Findlay Poetry

https://bobfindlayblog.wordpress.com/2016/11/29/short-notice

About My Poetry Blog. Posted by Bob Findlay. Asymp; Leave a comment. No more last minute phone calls. Requesting I do something that you should be doing yourself. My day tomorrow has now been put on hold….again. And sleep will probably escape me. Just because my life is not like yours. Makes it no less a life. Which remains constantly circling around yours. I doubt that you give it much thought. Judging by the notice and your tone of voice. I also doubt that this will alter. Larr; Previous post. Don&#821...

About My Poetry Blog. Posted by Bob Findlay. Asymp; Leave a comment. It’s what you like about each other. That draws you together. But it’s how much you can stand. What you don’t like about each other. That keeps you together. Through thick and thin. Through good and bad. Can you weather the storm. And hold it together? Holding it all together. Life isn’t a bed of roses. Look out for the thorns. Life can make you bleed. But you can heal each others wounds. You can do it together. Posted by Bob Findlay.

The Tale Of The Hobo Poet | Bob Findlay Poetry

https://bobfindlayblog.wordpress.com/2016/12/15/the-tale-of-the-hobo-poet

About My Poetry Blog. The Tale Of The Hobo Poet. Posted by Bob Findlay. Asymp; Leave a comment. The hobo had lived on the streets for 20 years. Reciting poetry and philosophy of the greats. 20 years earlier he was an English teacher. But hit hard times. He liked a drink. Until the cards no longer fell his way. He was instantly homeless. His intellect told him to get sober. And recite poetry and philosophy. He was sober within 3 months. But still unemployable because of his record. The man was a promoter.

Girlfriend? | Bob Findlay Poetry

https://bobfindlayblog.wordpress.com/2016/12/10/girlfriend

About My Poetry Blog. Posted by Bob Findlay. Asymp; Leave a comment. He wanted a girlfriend. But then again he didn’t. He was happy with his own company. Most of the time. When he got bored. He would visit friends. But after so many years. Besides, where would he meet someone? He wasn’t into social functions. He found them samey. He could come and go as he pleased. No rules to follow but his own. Not having a girlfriend was a small price to pay. For the brief moments of monotony. Larr; Previous post.

Internet Dalliances | Bob Findlay Thoughts

https://composingmymind.wordpress.com/2015/07/23/internet-dalliances

From Mind To Matter. Posted by Bob Findlay. Asymp; 1 Comment. I’ll keep this entry brief to avoid tedium and also because my internet knowledge is limited. Having said this,. Ven after all of this time I still have a child-like fascination with the internet. I am astounded that I can communicate with people from all over the world in real time, watch up to date news stories, Youtube. Clips and listen to a vast. The sharing aspect of the internet. I only use a laptop. For my internet activities. And am re...

From Mind To Matter. Posted by Bob Findlay. Asymp; Leave a comment. I walked into the party like I was walking onto a yacht. After a one-eyed glimpse of myself in the mirror the first thing that I was was a one-legged man juggling six crows. “Murder! 8221; I yelled. A policeman in the corner approached me and promptly arrested me. He took me to the station but didn’t charge me. He just said, “Walk.” So I did. I was taken to the nearest asylum and placed in a padded cell with Elvis who was dead. Eleph...

Home Matters | Bob Findlay Thoughts

https://composingmymind.wordpress.com/2015/07/18/home-matters

From Mind To Matter. Posted by Bob Findlay. Asymp; 6 Comments. This entry may sound a bit “me, me, me” but it is purely to set the scene so that you know where I’m coming from and who is actually writing to you. I live in a two bedroom unit on a small dead end road. This may sound bleak but it is far from bleak. To my children, my family, friends and local amenities. I also have a great. And good neighbours. One neighbour, Tony, (not his real name) is always good for a chat. Most mornings I visit. Though...

Let’s Go Shopping | Bob Findlay Thoughts

https://composingmymind.wordpress.com/2015/07/21/lets-go-shopping

From Mind To Matter. Let’s Go Shopping. Posted by Bob Findlay. Asymp; 5 Comments. And I don’t exactly go hand in hand. I view. It as a necessary evil. When I wake up on shopping. Days I’m in a state of high alert for several reasons. To me, shopping. Is a thing that should be got into, get done and get out as quickly as possible. It rarely works out. That way for many reasons. Luckily I don’t need a list and that’s the only upside. Bag that I have no idea what I bought it for; a passionfruit or a single.

Bob Findlay Poetry | Poetry from Tasmania

About My Poetry Blog. Posted by Bob Findlay. Asymp; 1 Comment. Surrounded by a strange mist. It hoved into port without warning. And lowered its gangplank. From the gangplank came the skeleton crew. Armed with swords and knives. They robbed every person, shop and tavern. When the Ghostship left port. It did so with as much of a surprise as its arrival. People on land were left bewildered. It was as if time had temporarily stood still. Time had indeed stood had indeed stood still. Posted by Bob Findlay.
