Half-Breed Outlaw: Piercing Story
http://halfbreedoutlaw.blogspot.com/2010/10/piercing-story.html
Tuesday, October 19, 2010. This is a sad story, so if you're particularly vulnerable to children's pain, please stop reading here :(. OK, I warned you. When we finally got around to finding a pharmacy, we spent a Saturday afternoon going to three pharmacies and one hospital, and we were denied at every stop. The next Monday I asked the nurse from the health unit in our office if she could call the hospital to make an appointment, but she had no luck either. Our portero (i.e. porter - doorman? Neil was at...

Half-Breed Outlaw: Switzerland
http://halfbreedoutlaw.blogspot.com/2015/01/switzerland.html
Monday, January 26, 2015. A couple things prompted me to write here today. A friend told me she found my blog while searching the Web for baby ear piercing. That post. Has some of the most page views on this blog. I never understood why until now; parents searching the internet for information and personal experiences when trying to make this big decision for their children. Then a friend and relative posted an article. Maybe I will continue to write a bit on here for my own good. Some of the reasons...

Half-Breed Outlaw: September 2012
http://halfbreedoutlaw.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html

Is this what you thought Botswana looks like? Gaborone's first coffee shop. Office space with a restaurant and fountains below. It is also halfway between my house and the office, very convenient. Appetizer: Blue cheese souffle. Kingklip (white fish) on polenta.

http://halfbreedoutlaw.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 9, 2015. You can't expect to live in a place called Bern and come out unscathed. I just didn't think it would be literal. Luckily my drama is only hair-related. First-World problem; believe me, I know. But still. For the past eight and a half months since moving here I have been on a quest to find. A serviceable hair salon. And the well-intentioned stylist had no clue how to style my hair. It was incredible (one of my more optimistic colleagues said it looked like something you might see...

Half-Breed Outlaw: July 2011
http://halfbreedoutlaw.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 27, 2011. We're in Bangkok, Thailand. Me, Neil and Baby Nile. We came here for Neil's birthday! There's also that training I have .) Good timing. Of food provided. I've never been on a cruise, but this must be what it feels like! I am sitting here in my hotel-provided robe and slippers before I'm going to get ready and go down to the breakfast buffet. And all of this is even before we leave the hotel. So if not before, I'll check in from there! Tuesday, July 5, 2011. Nov 17, 2010. So we s...
