On January 7th and 8th, 1996 we had 31 inches of snow in the Philadelphia area, the all-time single storm record. Our houseguests, Becky and Tom, were scheduled to fly out on the afternoon of the 7th. They finally got on a plane on the 10th. Tom started suffering, immediately and badly, from cabin fever. Since 2007 the Bob Kermavner Foundation has awarded over $50,000 to local high school students. The scholarship foundation will include three recipients for 2017. Three $2,500 scholarships will be awarded to students this year. The scholarship is primarily based on students’ who have exemplified a commitment in community service and plan on continuing their education after high school. 2018 is the 11th year for this special endeavor celebrating volunteerism.
