I love getting together with hubby's Minnesota friends. Putting down roots on 5 acres with little money, big dreams and lots of ambition. I grew that, i ate that. I can think of few things more gratifying then picking fresh food from your garden and planning a meal around it. thankfully we have a myriad of things that work well together. Yesterday i plucked tomatoes, chives, thyme, sage, parsley, peppers, green beans and rainbow chard for dinner. Thanks to our other handy neighbor Jan for fresh boiled crab that we cracked and treated with meyer lemon juice.

Good friends realize when you feel overwhelmed. they also know just when to step in and lend a hand. My dear pal Julie is a gardener/landscaper/crafter.she was wonderful enough to come over an early saturday morning and help me put in a few manageable (being the key word) raised beds to plant some veggies. A few minor adjustments to the boles. replace insulation in the ceiling, remove air conditioner from ceiling which leaked, tear out all the cabinets, remove the kitchen appliances and fridge, remove mattresses, close off bathroom and create a clean sparse space to dwell temporarily while we finish the Spartan.
