Bob's Blog - canoes and stuff

Bob's Blog - canoes and stuff. Saturday, 22 May 2010. USA - South East road-trippin. This trip also gave me a chance to really put the Big Dog Force OC1 through it's paces. Apart from having some gluing malfunctions, I found it did everything I wanted it to. The speed was good, it was predictable, forgiving, resurfaced nicely, and boofed well. This was all good news as there were times I needed all the help I could get! I look forward to this boat going into production. North fork French Broad (NC).

Bob's Blog - canoes and stuff: July 2008

http://bobscanoestuff.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html

Bob's Blog - canoes and stuff. Monday, 21 July 2008. Turkey - the main course. Getting down to our campsite beside the river. We were surrounded by these. Moon rise from our campsite. Floating down the top of the river before the boulder choke hell began. The walls rise and the springs start to flow. With a huge spring to the side of him Frankie fires it up on the first big drop of the canyon. Heading downstream in the gorge. Grandad running the last bit of a double drop. Jamie approaches a nice boof.

Bob's Blog - canoes and stuff. Saturday, 1 March 2008. The Archives strike again. I got up this morning ready to go boating only to find that our fickle climate had knocked that idea on the head. So I've been left to day dream about paddling again, which brought me back to our trip to the South East States last summer. Here's a few pictures from those two weeks. Getting ready to drop on the Tygart. Snowy with yet more cutting edge gear. Grandad signs up for the National Rifle Association. Waldensridge Wh...

Bob's Blog - canoes and stuff: November 2007

http://bobscanoestuff.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html

Bob's Blog - canoes and stuff. Thursday, 22 November 2007. The famous Breaker - montage style. A view of the gorge from the take out bridge - a nice medium level. Getting ready to put on the river. Approaching the Breaker, not the most steep section, but probably the chunkiest. Middle line on the Breaker - just point and shoot. Through the hole and into the eddy at the bottom of the breaker. Eddying out into a rare pool in the gorge. Working through a nice section of boulder garden. Frankie in the Paiva ...

http://bobscanoestuff.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html

Bob's Blog - canoes and stuff. Monday, 4 August 2008. Turkey - another large portion. Chilling out at the Alara restaurant - some of us slept on these platfroms. While the rest of us slept up here. A spring at the put in of the top Alara gorge. Deep in the first Alara canyon. Sheer rock walls don't make for fun portages. Beef drops into the Kaiser gorge. Working through the Kaiser gorge. Ali and Beef work their way down stream. Beef gets some air. Ali goes for the boof. A tight Alara drop. Turkey - anoth...

May 30, 2008 — chrisfrankiesmith. I thought I’d better put some photos up from a paddling trip to Morocco – its a brilliant Easter destination; good weather, amazing food and even a bit of paddling hidden away in the Atlas mountains…. All Photo’s are courtesy of David Fairweather. And his rather large peli box full of technical wonders].

February 18, 2008 — thewhitebits. 10 in the morning and it was still -2 degrees. Already talking about the deep fried brie wedges we’d be eating after the days climb, we headed to the impressive edge of Froggatt. Waterways were icy, the grass was frosted, the grit was perfect. Lazy and Inept Productions. World Challenge Expeditions – Norway 2008. Moroccan Water (Some of it White). Awesome Walls Stockport II. August 4, 2008 — chrisfrankiesmith. The one night, one day climbing adventure started with a midgey infested boulder at Badger Rock in Kentmere. I thought my little brother leaving the deet in the car was pretty stupid, later I discovered my older brother leaving the sleeping bags in Preston was much more stupid. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
