Warrior Pilgrimage: BUSHCRAFT BUHISAN XXXI: Baptism by Water
http://pinoyapache.blogspot.com/2015/08/bushcraft-buhisan-xxxi-baptism-by-water.html
Saturday, August 1, 2015. BUSHCRAFT BUHISAN XXXI: Baptism by Water. We left Guadalupe at 07:30 after procuring ingredients for our noontime meal. We will tackle first Heartbreak Ridge but there will be no heartbreak tales today since the weather played into our wishes. I take the lead and deliberately make my pace slow to accommodate the newcomers and the slow starters. For the same reason, it is best to take it slow since there will be slippery parts. It is gloomy walking on small streams since the bank...

Monday, June 22, 2015. MAN-SIZED HIKE XI: Sinsin to Guadalupe. SEGMENT 1-A OF MY Cebu Highlands Trail Project is the most used route I take whenever I engage people to a cross-country day hike. This route is also used as a requirement for membership into the Camp Red Bushcraft and Survival Guild. This route then satisfies the adventure adrenaline of most, as a selection hike for a chosen few and torture for someone who had been on this six times. Mobile phone. The manual says it is waterproof, dustpr...

Tuesday, November 25, 2014. COMPLEAT BUSHCRAFT XII: Dirt Time. IT IS A BRIGHT SUNNY DAY. Jerome Tibon drove his KIA Rio. On the South Road bound for Sibonga. I sat beside him while Nelson Orozco and Jhurds Neo sat at the back. When we passed by Pardo, Fulbert Navarro joined us. It is just another regular dirt time for us members of the Camp Red Bushcraft and Survival Guild. Today is March 30, 2014 and, an hour from now, we would be at our campsite. Would be fried in oil on a military-issued food tray.

A present day webcomic thriller – Updates Mondays. Story so far…. Is a new webcomic which already impresses with delicately drawn art and a nice fantasy/renaissance-ish storyline which is attractive. The comic overall is off to a very good start and its making me really want to read which is what comics are all about isn’t it? Give it a go. Is a rollocking adventure story. Something with takes Indy and beats it over the head. Repeatedly before leaving it for dead in the gutter outside. Indy. Is set in th...

Warrior Pilgrimage: October 2014

Saturday, October 25, 2014. A GREEN ISLAND IN A SEA OF CONCRETE and STEEL. I had never done a thorough survey of the golf course in daylight but I had conducted inspection on some parts of its protective fences from the outside. The golf course is 55-plus hectares in land area with the main part of its lot belonging to Kasambagan, Cebu City where it is accessible at its main entrance located along the busy Governor Mariano Cuenco Avenue. The rest of it is within Subangdaku, Mandaue City. AFTER SIX SUNDAY...

Saturday, April 25, 2015. BUSHCRAFT BUHISAN XXVIII: Deadfall. WE KEEP THIS ACTIVITY a hush-hush so we contacted just a few individuals. Jhurds Neo, Dominik Sepe, Ernie Salomon, Boy Olmedo and a rough cut, Mark Lepon, came today, September 7, 2014, at the parking lot of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish. When we had secured the ingredients for our noontime meal, we left Guadalupe at 07:00, taking the route to “heartbreak ridge”. Moments like these are the best time to learn nature. You just have to she...

Friday, June 20, 2014. What really is the beef behind this article? This fool writes and belong to a line of warrior-poets who you thought vanished many years ago. Fools like me are not born everyday. Of course, not all outdoorsmen could write or blog and not all writers or bloggers could become outdoorsmen. Writing, they say, are for the desk-bound and for the faint-hearted. Then where does that place me, huh? Document done in LibreOffice 3.3 Writer. Friday, June 13, 2014. Warrior Pilgrimage: March 2015

Wednesday, March 25, 2015. NAPO TO BABAG TALES LXXXI: Exploration Gallery. We had just taken our delayed lunch. It is 14:30, July 13, 2014, and we decide not to resume our hike towards Babag Ridge as it is already too late in the day to tackle it before taking a long descent to Sapangdaku Creek. Why not backtrack and go exploring? I am testing, for the first time, the Silangan Predator Z. Tactical backpack. It is bigger than the commercially available 27-liter Predator Alpha. Saturday, July 26, 2014. NAPO TO BABAG TALES LXIX: Worthwhile. I HAVE THE WHOLE afternoon to myself today, December 22, 2013, after I had a good rest in the morning. That rest was spent reading books about the The Nullarbor. Compiled by the Australian Geographic Society, and Rory Stewart’s 2002 journey on foot in Afghanistan which he documented in The Places in Between. To recall, Maximo Lucentales III posted on his wall that he do not mind climbing the same mountain over and over again as against the po...

Warrior Pilgrimage: May 2014

Monday, May 26, 2014. O Grandfather Mountain of the South,. How glad am I to sit again on your lap. So many years have passed between us;. But you recognized me with a smile;. Against the warm sun behind me. The sweet smell of moist grass and earth. Wafting thru my nose like a long-lost scent. Of a forgotten love affair buried by time;. Have made my meeting with you nostalgic. And condescendingly strong in spirit. Standing above your crown, I am but a mite;. Yet high enough to watch a Negros sunset.
