Wednesday, September 3, 2008. An example of the beautiful ornamentation that can be found just about anywhere. There is a heavy use of lion motifs, which are sometimes winged and really appealed to the mythological nerd in me. The palette of the city. We made a brief stop in some of the more touristy spots. The zodiac clock-you can see where the sun is in Gemini. Duuuuuude. Sitting in the clouds with the Virgin Mary and baby Jesus. It was so heady and over the top-it felt like a period piece film set.
