http://r5-d4.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
This is my blog about building Astromech droids. Saturday, October 8, 2011. Worked on my antenna today. Today I tried to extend the range of the Vex antenna. Its really short like 12 inches long and means when I use the Vex transmitter I have to be atleast 12 feet away. Here is how I had it wired up. The vex is the yellow box with the short antenna I had wrapped around the frame. Posted by red UFO. Wednesday, October 5, 2011. Painting My Tinted Dome. I used Weld On 3 first to put the spider looking ring on. Glued the bottom but it didn't hold. What worpage might look like! This is what the other side looks like. After 1 year as a parts colle...

Painting the arm was much easier than I thought. Here's some of the basics so you can get an idea on how to paint yours. Power is restored back to the droid via the power board. I also installed a new Pittman motor so the...

This is my blog about building Astromech droids. Wednesday, April 27, 2011. Today I got my tinted dome in the mail I'm experimenting for a droid I call R2-AZ. Its an 18 inch dome that's a couple of inches shorter than a 300 MM dome. So its time for a test fit. I have 3 blacklights inside it so I can later paint or light up some of them for the 'brains' or PSI lights. My black droid will have several different domes that I can swap out to make the droid change day to day. Posted by red UFO. Its just like ...
