The spec sheet from the winery had this to say about the wine: “… the grapes for the 2010 Zinfandel were pressed early to avoid extracting harsh tannins. After a five to seven day maceration, the lots were aged in French and American oak, 30% new, for 12 months. The restrained use of new oak helped preserve the big Zinfandel flavors while still imparting warm, spicy characteristics.”. An Excellent Value Pinot Noir. July 22, 2014 at 6:12 pm.
