Bockholt's Travels

Friday, July 15, 2011. For quite a few years now, Jeff has always wanted to visit Arlington National Cemetery and see the Changing of the Guard. It was a very moving site. The cemetery itself was beautiful and peaceful. The day was perfect - relatively cool, partly cloudy. Walking into the cemetery itself was a sight to behold. Both kids were in a great mood and after applying a little sunscreen we were on our way. A carving in a headstone. Posted by Jeff Bockholt. Thursday, July 14, 2011. We then visite...

Bockholt's Travels: Day 1 in DC

http://bockholt.blogspot.com/2011/07/day-1-in-dc.html

Tuesday, July 12, 2011. Day 1 in DC. It was a 20 minute train ride to our stop - Capitol South station. Riley did really well and only got fussy with about 5 minutes left of the ride. Upon exiting the station, we proceeded North and viewed the Library of Congress building. We had street dogs for lunch followed by messy ice cream treats. That seemed to hit the spot and everyone decided we could push on for a little while longer. Posted by Jeff Bockholt. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Day 2 in DC.

Bockholt's Travels: Hershey, PA to Annapolis, MD

http://bockholt.blogspot.com/2011/07/hershey-pa-to-annapolis-md.html

Monday, July 11, 2011. Hershey, PA to Annapolis, MD. Today after breakfast we made our way to Hershey's Chocolate World. All of us were excited to see what awaited us. We got there right when it opened at 10:00am. Angie and Dyson got to make their own candy bars. Jeff watched Riley because she would NOT keep her hairnet on and we've all seen how crazy her hair is. Goodnight and hopefully lots of great pictures tomorrow. Posted by Jeff Bockholt. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Day 2 in DC. Day 1 in DC.

Bockholt's Travels: Annapolis Tour and Cousin Visit

http://bockholt.blogspot.com/2011/07/annapolis-tour-and-cousin-visit.html

Thursday, July 14, 2011. Annapolis Tour and Cousin Visit. Oh Riley. Why do you wake up so early? 5:45am this morning. She would not go back to sleep either. We tried (*cough* *cough* Angie tried) but Riley was having none of it. Next the guide took us into the Naval Academy. We were able to watch meal-time formation right as we walked up. That concluded the tour. We headed back to the house and had some lunch, relaxed for a while, got cleaned up, and then left to go see Angie's cousin, Sharon. Day 2 in DC.

Bockholt's Travels: Day 2 in DC

http://bockholt.blogspot.com/2011/07/day-2-in-dc.html

Wednesday, July 13, 2011. Day 2 in DC. Today ended up starting out like yesterday - with us ignoring the alarm and not waking up until 6:15am - 5:15 in Central time. We didn't make it to the train until after 7:30. By this time, the trains were starting to get plenty packed. We all found a seat near each other. From the White House, we crossed the grass of the Elipse, heading straight towards the Washington Monument. Neither Angie or Dyson really cared to walk that far just to look straight up, so we...
