Giorgio Gieco is a young and dynamic family enterprise owned and managed by the Devalle Gieco family from Mendoza, Argentina. During the 1940s, our grandfather, Francisco A. Calise, an Italian immigrant, owned great extensions of vineyards and olives and a big winery in Vistalba. At the beginning of the 21st century, we, part of his descendants, the Devalle Gieco family, decided to follow the tradition implanting new vines and growing high quality wines in a 16 hectare parcel of land inherited from him.

Giorgio Gieco Malbec Single Vineyard. Location: Vistalba Luján de Cuyo Mendoza. Altitude: 1,000 m above sea level. Vintage method: hand-picked in 18 Kg plastic cases. Pre-fermentation maceration: 2 days at 10 C. Alcoholic fermentation: traditional in stainless steel tanks with selected yeasts at a temperature between 22 and 24 C. Malolactic fermentation: complete with indigenous bacteria. Aging in winery: 8 months in stainless steel tanks with 20% in contact with French oak staves.

Giorgio Gieco Rosé of Malbec 2015. Location: Vistalba- Luján de Cuyo-Mendoza. Altitud: 1,000m above sea level. Vineyard age: 8 years. Vintage Method: hand-picked in 18 kg plastic cases. The must comes from a saignée practiced to the vinification of 100% Malbec 24 hours after maceration started keeping low temperatures (8 C). Fermented at low temperature (15 C). Sight: bright granate color. Nose: fresh fruits aroma (strawberries, cherries, sour cherries). Mouth: well structured, fresh and fruity.
