Waking Life: September 2009
http://jwolt.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 13, 2009. A while ago I mentioned that I was making a baby carrier. Well, I realized I never posted any photos, and now I've made two! After making the first one I had to make a few pattern adjustments, and I think the second one came out much nicer (although you probably won't be able to tell anything from the pictures). You can use these from birth up to about 35lbs (if you can carry 35lbs! This is one that someone asked me to make for them. With the hood down. Toby going for a ride!

Waking Life: A Poem a Day
http://jwolt.blogspot.com/2010/03/poem-day.html
Tuesday, March 16, 2010. A Poem a Day. We are trying to start a habit of reading a poem a day at lunchtime. This was today's. Elinore thought it was funny. I thought it was worth sharing. The Blind Men and the Elephant. It was six men of Indostan. To learning much inclined,. Who went to see the Elephant. Though all of them were blind),. That each by observation. Might satisfy his mind. Approached the Elephant,. And happening to fall. Against his broad and sturdy side,. At once began to bawl:. And all wer...

Scotland Adventure: June 2011
http://erinandshorty.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, 30 June 2011. This is the definition of a Highland Midge (known as midgies in Scotland) from wikipedia- a species of small flying insect, found in upland and lowland areas especially in the north west of Scotland from late spring to late summer. Female Highland midges are well known for gathering in clouds and biting humans, and are the smallest flies in Scotland to do so. They are generally regarded as pests. It made for a miserable day. Unfortunately we didn't know then what we know now, how ...

Waking Life: January 2010
http://jwolt.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 29, 2010. This was her absolute highlight of Christmas! 5 Kevin begged and begged so much for a cover for his air compressor (in the garage) long after I decided to make him one, that I appliqued a pink heart on it as a joke! I'll try and put some updated photos on soon. This month has been a good break after the rush of the holidays. Be warm, wherever you are! Friday, January 01, 2010. Here are some pictures from 2009. Summing up a year. The Passing of the Year. Out peal the bells!

Scotland Adventure: May 2011
http://erinandshorty.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, 12 May 2011. We got to experience our first Highlander Games this past Sunday. The games consisted of competitions in Scottish dance, pipes and drums, and the fan favorite heavy events including the stone put, the weight throw, and the caber toss. Where else can you see an extremely muscular 300 pound man wearing a kilt tossing a 56 pound weight over a 13 foot high bar using one hand? By the way, we witnessed one contestant break a Scottish record in this event (16'5"). Looks silly in a kilt?

Scotland Adventure: #1 Hospitality
http://erinandshorty.blogspot.com/2011/03/1-hospitality.html
Tuesday, 15 March 2011. We have found this friendliness everywhere, even while riding the bus. It is an unwritten rule that every passenger tells the bus driver thank you or cheers before stepping off. We chose this as our number one because it alone has made this adventure worth it. 15 April 2011 at 19:12. Just noting that its been a month since you had an entry. Find some time during a rainstorm or something to update us on how things are going. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). 3 Well behaved dogs.

We are starting the sixth week of Brother in a cast.it ends on Friday! The first day of vacation at the beach, Brother falls off the top bunk of bunk beds and breaks his right arm. It will be a vacation we will never forget! He handled everything like a champ. He slept the first night in a splint, got a big cast the next day and never complained since! They had to manipulate the bone back into place which was so sad. Here he is getting the first cast on. Poor guy! SLOW DOWN this Christmas season.

Waking Life: September 2010
http://jwolt.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 08, 2010. I have been contemplating for some time about whether to continue this blog. It was begun as a means to communicate with family that does not live in town, and that has been the only reason I have kept up with it for so long. In order to be more available to my family and on the computer less, I have decided to discontinue blogging. GASP! For now, anyway. Instead I hope to send out emails with pictures a few times a year (maybe quarterly? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
