Behind the scenes at a National Trust wonder of Wales. August 14, 2015. A big Bodnant ‘Thank You’ to student volunteers. We’ve had some extra helping hands at Bodnant Garden this summer. Students have been spending some of their down-time with us to gain work experience – one of them from Snowdonia and two others from a little further afield near the Italian Dolomites. Gethin is a student at Ysgol y Creuddyn in Llandudno and volunteering at Bodnant Garden as part of his Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Hi, I’m Gethin; I’m 15 years old, and a volunteer here at Bodnant Garden. I’ve been volunteering for just over a year, and wow, what a journey it has been! There was a lovely log fire in the brazier outside too. The Old Mill was like something out of Winter Wonderland and looked amazing. Outside the fire was back, keeping everyone warm during the coldest time of the year.

Freitag, 28. November 2014. Heute mal etwas weihnachtliches Selbstgemachtes, aber nicht von mir. Ich bin nämlich der Meinung man muss auch seine Schwächen kennen bzw. die Stärken von anderen Nutzen. Kränze binden kann ich nicht, bzw. kann es meine Mutter super gut. (Ähnlich verhält es sich mit Stricken). Und so bekomme ich fast jedes Jahr (wenn ich frage) einen Kranz zur Adventszeit von meiner Mutter gebunden. Was für Kränze gibt es so bei Euch? Diesen Post per E-Mail versenden. Schubladen ganz schön grün.

Mittwoch, 29. Juli 2015. Heute ist der letzte Tag meines "Kurzurlaubes". Ich versuche den Tag nochmal richtig zu genießen bevor morgen der Arbeitsalltag mich wieder einfängt (erfahrungsgemäß muss man ja erstmal alles aus dem Urlaub wieder aufarbeiten). Man weiß es nicht, aber ich habe die zwei Vorhangteile aufgetrennt und gewaschen, und so warten sie nun in meiner Stoffschublade auf die Weiterverarbeitung. Ich wünsche Euch einen schönen Tag! Diese Felder sind ein echter optischer Gewinn für die Agrarlandschaft und ich freue mich immer sehr wenn ich so einen bunten Fleck in der Flur entdecke.
