PROTEIN, PROTEIN and MORE PROTEIN! Feb 12th, 2009 at 7:02 PM. 1 can blk beans drained and rinsed. 1 tbs mrs dash. 1 tbs italian season. 2 tbs ground flax seed. Smash beans up in bowl. Add everything except flax and oatmeal. Mix well w/ fork. Add flax and oatmeal mix more. Should be able to make into patty's if it is to wet add more oatmeal till you can. Heat olive oil in pan cook till hot threw out about 6 min a side. Added flavor: 1/2 cup plain yogurt mixed with brown mustard and 2 tbs horseradish.

It just occurred to me to experiment a bit with these this week, since, as a student, I'm looking for cheap(er) quick protein-rich meals. I broiled them instead of frying, and switched to breadcrumbs from cornmeal. I got 7 patties out of this:. 2 cans of salmon (14 oz).
