Not That Crazy: March 2008
http://katysuebors.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Living life in the Big Apple. Taking recommendations. Thursday, March 13, 2008. Not the Little Apple. I kept thinking I would update this thing and it's taken me a while but here goes. How am I adjusting to being back? Having things is great. Having new things is fun. But I just don't need it. Money is kinda tight right now. Will my attitude change once I get a real job? Maybe I'll end up spending it on other things like travel or a house or kids. Who knows. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Not That Crazy: April 2007
http://katysuebors.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html
Living life in the Big Apple. Taking recommendations. Tuesday, April 03, 2007. I'm on it slowly slowly. I did have a good time and I met a lot of really nice people. The desert is a beautiful place and maybe someday I’ll go back for a camel trek. It’s really hot there and I’m glad I’m living in The Gambia instead of Mauritania. It really made me miss my host family. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Im on it slowly slowly. View my complete profile.

Not That Crazy: Animal House
http://katysuebors.blogspot.com/2007/01/animal-house.html
Living life in the Big Apple. Taking recommendations. Monday, January 01, 2007. One of the things I’ve had to get used to here are the animals. I used to think I could have more control over them. After all in the States a lot of animal you see are pets or cute neighborhood animals like birds and squirrels. It’s not quite like that here. Shortly after I moved into my house at my permanent site a rat moved in above my ceiling. I couldn’t believe it! That's a real life R.O.U.S. View my complete profile.

Adventures in Living: November 2005
http://zacshepherd.blogspot.com/2005_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 30, 2005. The sounds of evening call to prayer can be quite beautiful. Morning call to prayer, at five ish, are a little bit less inspiring, but taking a bath in the deepening night, as I am serenaded by imams (in a fashion), is pretty cool. Especially when the weather is as dry and relatively cool as tonight. Life has been a blur lately no posts in a while are the result. Two Fridays ago I had an experience with a mason that maybe shouldn’t be recorded, but was very instructive .

Not That Crazy: Life in general: The Rainy Season
http://katysuebors.blogspot.com/2006/10/life-in-general-rainy-season.html
Living life in the Big Apple. Taking recommendations. Sunday, October 29, 2006. Life in general: The Rainy Season. Rainy season starts at the end of June signaling the end of the school so everyone is available for planting. The men plant and look after perhaps several cash crops—coos, corn and groundnuts and the women look after the rice. Everyone is working hard and gone most of the day tending to his or her crops. When it rains things cool off but otherwise the humidity makes everyone sweat doing the ...

Adventures in Living: April 2006
http://zacshepherd.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 25, 2006. Today has been an exercise in patience, more so than most days here, which I think is saying a lot. This morning I went to the Anglican mission school an upper basic (middle school) where I am trying to get their computer lab up and going. I arrived expecting to have a chance to check out their machines and get things ready to start lessons next week, but found some Nigerians working there. I am not their biggest fan. Then he asked them if they had suggestions, which I disagreed ...

Adventures in Living: May 2005
http://zacshepherd.blogspot.com/2005_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 25, 2005. How wrong I was. Life can be great sometimes. There are so many ways to learn things. Like when you think you are done with something and you wake up. Literally in this case, I woke up and got hit with a bag of cement that was two different projects both screaming for my attention. Well, not screaming so much as just behaving like truant junior high students. Everytime I think I am out, the. Y pull me back in. Posted by Zac at 9:28 AM. Tuesday, May 24, 2005. I was a Peace Corps V...
