BBR’s unique and world famous maple sweets, among others, were born from this tradition and attention to detail.

BBR syrups and coulis are widely used by industry for the production of desserts and sweets. They may be used as decoration and they may often be an integral part of recipe whereby they contribute flavour and mouthfeel. A foodstuff this is pleasing to the eye as well as sweet to the tooth is satisfying indeed. Flavourful syrups and coulis allow the consumer to decorate and / or to flavour a dish to his or her liking.

L'épicerie, July 1st 2003 ]. Candieswho doesn’t like candies! Robert Richard’s treats received rave reviews from a very serious panel we convened.Some of them even told our co-host Nancy Sabourin that they prefer the sugar free varieties! I had long dreamt of combining computers and mechanics to make a production line that would produce the same result: candy with a quality similar to handmade. What makes a good candy? A tasting in the company of real experts. All were willing to take on a blindfold test.

In 1988, Nestor Richard’s daughter, Suzanne, decided to relaunch the family business in Saint-Louis-de-France, near Cap-de-la-Madeleine. She had a small warehouse built and equipped it with tools that were either not available a decade before, or were adapted for use on a larger scale: standard rubber molds, special spatulas and cauldrons, high output gas burners, etc.
