The Bonchurch Inn started life as the Tap of the Bonchurch Family Hotel. The history goes back to the grant of a lease in 1840 to Bonchurch carpenter Jonathan Jolliffe. This first early photograph shows a view from the road of the the old Island Stone building housing the original Inn. There was thought to be a tap room on the ground floor at the front, and living accommodation at the rear. Food is available lunchtime and evenings in the bar and outside in the summer. Choices range from Sandwiches and Light Snacks to Fresh Crab and Juicy Steaks, and our Italian Specialities and Pizzas. Food is served from 12:00-1:45pm and 6.30-9.00pm (7pm-8.30pm Sunday). Small parties can be catered for in our cosy dining room. Please telephone or use our Contact Form for more information.
