Highlights from 2014 part 2. April 22, 2015. April 22, 2015. I know it’s been a long time since I posted highlights for 2014 part 1, but many things have happened since then. Boney Whitefoot has become two people now as my better half has arrived from Nebraska USA and Tammy will have a hands on role in building Boney into a growing enterprise. This place sure can use a woman’s touch! Starting off in the lineup for this post is the California Quail. The male of course is very much impressed with him self.

February 26, 2015. 2014 was a great year for me. I got shots of birds I have never seen before and I got the best shots of some birds I’ve photographed countless times previously. I will post my highlights in 2 parts each containing 6 images and I will explain why they were my highlights and how I took the shots. My first bird for 2014 is a A tūturiwhatu or New Zealand Dotterel chick shot at the end of the Pukehina Spit in the Bay of Plenty . It is believed that the kāhu is a recent arrival to New Zealan...

Once that danger had past we were immediately under attack again, this time from a whole clan of insurgent’s.

May 1, 2015. In April of each year, a few friends and I normally remember ANZAC day ending it with the movie The Light Horseman. This movie covers the ANZAC troops (Australia New Zealand Army Corp) of the light horse unit involved in the Sinai and Palestine campaigns and the last great horse charge in modern military history on the settlement of Beersheba in 1917. This year marked the 100th anniversary of Anzac Day and to celebrate, a parade was planned to run through the heart of our nation’s capital, W...
