About a year ago, i started an odd collection of short poems all focused on the sheer agony of falling in love.most are written on scraps of paper, or along the margins of whatever i happen to be reading at the time.this one was written in the snow). I traced a heart. Of newly fallen snow. In which i inscribed. In one thin line. Wednesday, January 13, 2010. I will not and cannot ever claim to be an atheist, because i do not. Friday, January 05, 2007. Did i think it made perfect sense to start the new year by processing my own wool for spinning? Talk about bad ideas! Sometime last spring, when i was in the midst of a minor-major breakdown (read: grad school not going well), i turned to spinning yarn as my stress-reduction activity of choice. i can't quite explain how i arrived at that not-so-logical conclusion. personally, i blame it on The Joy of Handspinning. Yes boys and girls, the interweb can be bad for your health.

And, while i continue to question the gods of our religious imaginings, i believe that there must be in all this vast and random expanse of a universe some power greater than the sum of human existence. It has been a firm belief for most of my life that there are beings who move among us, not to test us or pass judgment over our actions, but to challenge us to find our better selves.

They have whale watching boats, but I am not ready for that yet. I have a phobia about whales, they frighten me. My 2 biggest fears are whales and bigfoots.
